Three Dorks & Two Keys

Al fin están aquí

It's been over two months since I announced the first update would be coming. I will not pretend the ammount of content justifies the long wait, the main feature of this update is the first extra story following a moment in the life of three minor characters, most of its dialogue is completely optional and ignoring all the optional dialogue will result in a very short story. It can only be accessed after completing the main story.

The other big feature of this update is the spanish translation; no doubt bigger than the actual main feature. Now you'll be able to change the language from the Options menu with the simple press of a button. Although most menus will remain unchanged, all dialogues, choices and credits will be in proper spanish. I hope this isn't the last language added to the visual novel, although I don't promise anything more than this.

With that said, the visual novel has had its share of smaller changes. The most obvious one is the Language menu has been removed.

This is what it used to look like, the idea being you'd get textbuttons to the left to choose the different languages, and to the right you would get a sample text that would change to the language you selected. I thought it was a funny idea, but I got ahead of myself. I found no way to make the sample text change, and eventually figured it was more trouble than it was worth and changed to another setting in the options menu, which is considerably more comfortable to code, more logical and probably looks as good if not better for the user. This also means the "Language" button in the quick menu has been removed.

The screen size has been changed too. The insane resolution hasn't been touched, but now computer users will start at full screen.

Before this big update, they could switch between windowed and fullscreen through the options menu as shown in this image that lacks details because I had taken a proper screencap before modifying it, but unfortunately I didn't.

Of course you can still change the size with the F key or by pressing Alt+Enter, I simply took out the buttons in the menu to give more space for the rare chance of future languages being added, and also because this way I don't have to bother changing image files when I make a build for mobile devices.

As a last detail, while I was translating credits I changed everytime they call this a game to "Visual Novel".

This has point & click sections, and although many games with more interaction than this are considered Visual Novels,  you could make an argument for Three Dorks & Two Keys classifying as a game, but I feel the change helps keep some consistency in how I refer to this. I don't believe calling it a Visual Novel elevates it above games or make it sound better. This isn't a matter of making my product sound superior or more artistic, I just don't want to give the idea that it has that much gameplay when you barely do anything more than advancing dialogue.

Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoy the update.
