Alice also has pistanthrophobia aka fear of being betrayed as in her childhood she had some friends turn against her.

And that's the reason she fakes her entire confidence, she doesn't want to lose friends but she seems more open to talk with the bar guy.
I am thinking if Bar guy is present, instead of being sad she would seem like she is glancing at him and she has an hopeful smile
