The Editor
The massive part of this update, and the reason it took 5 months to release, is the Editor. This is a new menu accessible on the title screen for more advanced controls of a show.
Along with this, 90% of all the simulation code has been completely rewritten to accommodate this and improve performance/accuracy across the game.
One major difference users should know now is that the end of a showtape is now dictated by the end of the audio clip, not the end of the signals. This may cause some old shows that closed the curtains or had additional movements to end early. A new button in-game will now allow users to replace the audio with one padded with silence if need be.
Editor Controls:
Scroll where the movement names are to scroll up and down the movement list
-Scroll on the timeline to zoom in and out the view
-Middle click drag on the timeline to scroll along the timeline
-Click on the timeline to place the marker at the current time
-Right click on a movement name to pull up options on editing that bit across the whole timeline
-Numbers 1-9 on your keyboard will record bits corresponding to what's on screen. This can be seen by the number in parenthesis near the movement name
-The icons next to the viewport above the timeline will switch the current view to either the video in the file, the bit chart, or multiple camera angles of the stage running!
-The analysis menu at the top bar of the editor that lets you export text files of various data
-In that analysis menu you can now export the entire timeline of a single bit as a text file of 1s and 0s (at 60fps rate). I'm sure some smart people will find something to do with that lol
-You can set a master folder in the analysis menu. This will be used in the future for other things, but for now serves the purpose of letting you open a completely random show from all files listed under the master folder (using the open menu)
-Tech Lights and Force Curtain buttons can be found at the bottom left of the screen
VR
A separate VR application has been added to the downloads page. VR was planned from the very beginning, which is why certain things were designed in a way to make a VR build easy. The VR package will be updated alongside the standalone package for every update.
For now VR support works but does not cover every feature available in the standalone version. Menu settings, Prizes, and Recording Shows are not available (You can remove your controllers and still use the keyboard to record a show if need be for now).
Loading a file also requires to lift up the headset and use the file-browser on the screen. Hopefully soon an in-game browser will be available.
Due to this application also being in Unity HDRP, VR performance may be very low until additional improvements are made. Turning off Motion Smoothing may be needed as to not cause excessive warping when watching a show.
