An Update!


Hi everyone!

First of all, thank you very much for playing and even enjoying my game. I’m glad that I haven’t spend the last 7 months of my life completely in vain.

To be honest, I didn’t really intend to update the Prototype any further, but after getting a bunch of very useful feedback I decided that it might be a good idea to adress some of the issues that popped up.

Here’s what has changed:

  • No more subweapons!

  • A new upgrade system that replaces the previous subweapon system.
    You get a new Upgrade after each boss fight

  • larger enemies now sometimes drop health pickups, as a replacement for the health that you used to get after a bossfight

  • lots of adjustments that hopefully ease out some of the difficulty spikes.

Overall I hope this update makes the game not only easier to get into, but also a bit more interesting to play.

The subweapons weren’t really that useful most of the time and I actually struggled to come up with ideas for them. The system that has replaced them is much more fun to play around with, because it sometimes completely changes your approach.

In the end however, it doesn’t really matter what I think about my decisions, it’s about how you feel about them. So please tell me, if you run into any problems and also what you generally think about this update.

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
