Hello! I promised a big update soon, this isn’t it but hopefully It will be made possible and I can reveal it to you in the coming weeks. Though that isn’t to say this isn’t ‘huge’! A feature that was requested a while back, and I know a lot of people would appreciate it, was customisation of the character, with the old system this literally meant adding millions of lines of code to make sure the game knew what sprites I wanted to run and it also meant the artist had to create millions of different variations, so obviously it was ridiculous to even think about attempting it. Now however it’s made a million times easier, with the head now acting as a seperate object all we need to actually animate is the arms, this then eliminating any headwear or hair colour that may be present. While of course this means redoing all the current animations it’s saves a lot of time. Though this is not in the game yet, I’m not certain if I have said anything before about what my plans are from here on out but I want to keep the game behind closed doors for now. Why? I don’t want to continuously pump out small alphas that add very little to the game, the reason behind this is that eventually the game becomes stale and then before we’re even nearly done the entire game is dead and even if the game becomes amazing most people will have already experienced most of it so it removes the experience. That’s not to say I won’t show footage in the form of videos or images or even that I won’t release builds, I do plan to give people a chance to experience the game whether it be at a convention or as a small beta build.
I hope you can understand my choices and if you have any questions please post them below!
For now, enjoy the short customisation Gif!
