VIDEO OF MY BLIND PLAYTHROUGH OF THE GAME (UNEDITED!!)
Hey'all! Rafa here with another game review.
I recently played Animatronic Memories after weeks of it being in my folders collecting dust - and I'm quite surprised at the quality of the game.
The Positive and Awesome Stuff
While hesitant at first, the mechanics for the gang have really grown on me! When I saw the 'The Hug'-esque masks (I know they are from the actual animatronic pizzerias, but that short fundamentally changed my life so I will always attribute that aesthetic to it), I, at first, really didn't think they'd work, but they do and quite pleasantly!!
The redesign also makes every character stand out one another in a quite earnest way!
Freddy has an awesome tuxedo suit that, honestly, fits him even more than the other suits I have seen him get in similar redesigns such as the FNaF+ one.

Bonnie has an incredibly, heh, 'radical' design, that I don't exactly know how to describe, but it reminds me heavily of the Into the Future series and that makes me love it.

I honestly started hating Chica's design, I thought she looked really stupid, but like it fits her a lot with the theming! ...well, besides the skirt, which looks kind of silly but it's a nice touch.

Foxy looks the most pirate he has ever looked, and also extremely fluffy! He also has a peg leg, which is directly tied to why he cannot run very fast, which I just love.

I like Anne. I don't have any strong opinions towards her she's neat but not much else.

Harley the Puppet looks fucking phenomenal, they really one-upped FNaF 2's puppet with making it look unnerving. It looks outrageously alive, with its human eyes penetrating into mine and - oh god it makes my skin crawl get it out of my screen!!

Tootsy is a weird animatronic, she only exists for the repair minigames, which are cool but definitely filler, but like she reminds me of the Rage Comic women so that makes me like her

"The Birthday Rabbit" aka Spring Bonnie without the springs is phenomenal. He has that unnerving sinister smile and stare at all times that genuinely makes me love him. They clearly put a lot of love and time to this design and it shows, like, I can get how a kid would be foolish enough to follow him, while I'm also terrified by how blatantly evil he looks

In general, the designs are incredibly well put together and fit the theming incredibly well, they are filled with little details that make them even better and cooler! And the jumpscares are cool too I guess, I didn't get to see any of them because... Something I'll tackle later. The difficulty.
And the office is no exception, looking stunning as ever!

With the cameras also looking genuinely incredible and being very immersive

And also, before we go into the many flaws the games has, after every night there is a minigame at the Arcade where you play one of those Fazbear Entertainment minigames every fangame nowaday has

And there, you must find a glitch to enter the Glitch World (* name I gave it, its never stated what it is), and uncover the way the kids (minus the Puppet lol) died to The Birthday Rabbit (Afton) in a genuinely jaw dropping artstyle which makes it the more creepy and sad

And I genuinely love these, they are incredibly well put together and they clearly took a lot of time, effort and care to make!!
There's also an awesome animation if you get the good ending (click here to see it, but, you know, spoilers!) which oh my god I fell in love with it immediately!!!!
...however, now I have to get into its many flaws, some of which has already been said already.
The Flaws
The gameplay, mainly, with some other stuff
The game only really has 3 mechanics, two of which belonging to the same character, and the AIs never get high enough to force you to have to really focus to survive
Freddy, Bonnie and Chica approach from the door, you must close it. If any of them enter the office, you die.

Foxy and Anne will run up to your window and if you aren't fast enough they will kill you.

The Puppet has two attacks, but they function exactly the same: One where they glitch the cameras and you must find where they are and play a sound that makes them go back to their music box, and one rare attack where they try to get into the vent in the kitchen and you have to play a sound for them to go back. One is through the entire camera system and gives you more time, the other is located in a specific place and you must do it quickly; but they are basically the same thing

This makes the game very easy - not as much as FNaC: R, but its still one of those games that casual players will enjoy and anyone skilled in FNaF will get bored by. Specially since, in some nights when they introduced a gimmick, some animatronics from prior nights either don't move or move very slowly
Futhermore, the game has the FNaF Camera Problem, where all of the cameras minus one or two are completely useless; the only animatronic you need to check on the cameras for is The Puppet, so you can just camp the kitchen camera and you would survive no questions asked!
Also, something I didn't mention is the Animatronic Repair segments! After every night, you must repair an animatronic in an extremely boring and honestly filler minigame,

Behind you there's Tootsy, if she gets too close you electrocute her, its quite mind-numbingly easy and honestly I did not care for this minigame at all

However, and this is the thing that bothers me the most...
Bad Ending VS Good Ending
In this game, it feels like getting the good ending is actively detrimental. Sure, if you do the good ending there's an awesome animation that genuinely makes the entirety of the game worthwhile, but if you get the bad ending...

You get an entirely unique game that's almost completely unique and new, and I honestly wish this was in both routes, OR AT LEAST PLAYABLE AFTER THE GOOD ENDING.
The environment looks awesome and plays incredible in, there's a lot of new mechanics for the night that, if put into the normal game, would make Animatronic Nights be in my Top 10 FNaF Fangames,

And the new threats for the night are, basically, the souls of the children who you failed to save, who after William Afton kills you want to kill you again so you join them or whatever - I didn't get the lore that well

This night is not accessible if you do the good ending, by the way. For some reason there's no way to play it in the Extras menu, yet that menu has a lot of shit regarding every little aspect of this special night. It has a ton of concept art, the design of The Thing.
It sucks because they clearly put a lot of love and effort into this night and its disappointing to see how they basically just force you to replay the entire game while not doing any secret or trying to save the souls to play it.

I understand the point it makes in the lore, but at least add it to the extras man, it feels stupid to make it the way it is right now.
Also, there's no star system to show you beat the game at all, just the fact that you have the Extras menu, which is weird
Wrapping Things Up
Game is awesome, it looks incredibly stunning and, if you're not looking for a particularly hard FNaF game, or one that looks awesome, you should definitely play Animatronic Memories.
However, it has a load of flaws that I hope they are able to fix for the next fangame they do, because I see this dev team with a lot of potential!!!
Alright, that's all.
Rafa, out!
