Hi, so yeah, this is it, the Bloodshed R AMA. Your questions are about to be answered!
Well, I wouldn't treat the version as something final, it's been 0.0.2 for 90% of the time, I just casually started making it bigger number. Version will be higher than the current Bloodshed Public Release. Even now it's like 0.8.0. But as I said, it doesn't really mean much at the moment.
Stability
no stupid bugs that I don't even know what they're caused by (probably one of the first lines of code that are basically hidden in the basement)
Better balance
more fun gameplay
better look
original models (I still remember one guy that I took Foxy model port from... with credit ofc, he was saying some stuff about the game in Freddit discord, when the game still had a flat test map and everything... like stock anims (which wasn't true) and these models... not optimized, not made for games... not like he was "mad" about it, he just didn't think it's a good idea I guess? So I decided to have our own models, especially considering it's gonna be easier to make skins with these and there are not going to be potential problems because we took some models from people)
me feeling better about the game
"updating" the code, because most of it was really old and I didn't even remember what it did, and remaking every script would probably take longer than remaking the entire game considering the game will simply (I hope) be better now, the outcome is better than updating a fully broken game
Well, it wasn't really planned, but maybe a small "dev", or "test" map is not a bad idea... cuz u know... why not, if somebody wants it... who am I to say no
Maybe one day (but that can be said about every single character actually)
Well most of the characters play totally different now, some abilities got completely replaced, some got slightly changed... The gameplay is going to be different, but I think if we really want to ask the question who got buffed... I think Bonnie is the overall winner of this Remake. His mobility was the worst thing about him, and his ult was pretty useless. Now it damages, and Bonnie's Melody (the notes) are not chasing you with auto aim. So yeah... Now Bonnie requires more skill, but probably generally plays better.
Well... This thing should probably be explained better.
I was actually preparing a whole post about the skins, cosmetics and "progression" situation, however I didn't publish anything yet even though the post is in my drafts for like 2-3 weeks already... unfinished.
What I can say now though, is that it will come back eventually. Just not for the initial Bloodshed R release. But there will be time we will come back to skins and allow community to suggest their own ideas once again. For now we still actually got skins that got accepted and weren't even made yet, so that makes it probably take even more time in the future.
Maybe I should actually say more... But not as much as I will in a dedicated post... So basically Bloodshed R will bring some basics at first. The whole point of the Remake was to focus on the game, before adding any "unnecessary" content. So unfortunately... Skins are not going to be included at first, but they will come back. One of the reasons behind this decision is also to make it way more safe and secure, because right now the whole skins system is really stupid. It was also supposed to be a "test" and attempt to see if I will be able to do this. Now I am planning to make a whole dedicated database and remote server that will keep all your in-game data and progress safe and hopefully way more stable. This will require more time though, as I will need to code an entire server "application" that will run on a hosting that I will need to pay for. That's one of the reasons this is planned, but not coming YET.
Actually, that's it. There were no more questions. Hope this post made some stuff more clear. IF you still have questions, I might answer them too, probably already in the comments under this post.
Thanks for reading this, and see you guys in the Remake when it finally arrives.
