Apologies for my absence, here's a nice long devlog to make up for it!


Hello everyone! Sorry these "weeky" devlogs are becomming less... weekly. Never fear! I'm working on it I swear.


Bug Fixes

Believe it or not, I've already had some bugs pop up. This bug revolves around the small amount of randomness in the map. Turns out, my noise texture was perfectly fine! I had mistyped a varible and never noticed it! >:(

Big Changes

The main thing I've been working on recently is rivers! Every good stategy game has them, so ours does too.

The river is animated so it appears to be moving in the direction you drew it.

Rivers cannot go uphill, (duh ) and rivers cannot branch off into other rivers. Rivers can go downhill which makes an awesome waterfall!

I can't say this with certainty, but it's very likely you'll get a map editor to mess around with when were done!

For the Future

One thing that needs to be done in the near future is lighting changes. It's not on the top of my list of priorities, but it will be one of the first things I do when I finish the tutorial.

Some actual lighting will hopefully make the game much easier on the eyes and actually enjoyable to look at!

We kinda stopped working on Highway 32 for awhile but now we're back to work!

It's not much but we're trying to get back into it.

Little test of some new styling. We intially used a tile set but that sucked.

A complete redesign of the player, or "the Wanderer" as we call him.

Making decent progress in our game for #AdvJam2021 so far. Post Processing really goes a long way :)
