Arimo and Batang Developer's Blog #1


Its been absolutely forever since I really gave a real update for this project. First let’s begin with why it disappeared for as long as it did.

(Since this game is new here on Game Jolt, this game was cancelled many months ago)

-WHY IT DISAPPEARED AKA THE OBLIGATORY MOTIVATIONAL SPEECH-

Simply put,I GOT LAZY, not the whole I couldn’t keep up with it and manage personal life thing I always love to bring up,despite what I like to tell myself, I have way more free time than I like to make myself to believe. Free time that should be poured into this rather than sitting around eating or playing other games.

I simply did not want to make this project, well that’s not true, I wanted to desperately make it but I didn’t want to pour in the work to do it. I seriously did not want to cancel this game in the first place but I did, out of pure laziness. After I cancelled it I could not keep it out of my head for the next several months. To a point where I cracked fully admitted I wanted to make this damn game.

As of writing this, Kentona recently posted a really cool thing on how to get noticed and stuff on RMN, but one thing really stuck out, a line right at the bottom “Your doing this hobby for yourself, not to be popular”

And that’s my main drive to complete this game, no matter how bad it may turn out in the end, hell it can get bashed so damn hard in reviews, as long as I completed a game and feel accomplished for doing so. I’m not going to cut corners, I’m not going to rush it, I’m going to pour in all my effort and make it as best as I can.

While sure, it uses pre made graphics you can buy off the rpg maker web/steam and music from other games, this game is something I always wanted to make.

Geez, can you cut it with the sentimental, motivation speech shit already? Giving me a damn headache! We all know your a lazy ass

*Sigh… Why must you always step in when your not needed?

First up, I would like to talk about how the numbers work in this game, aka the stats, the levels etc. Because its actually sorta of different than what you would see in a typical RPG MAKER game. This game is balanced on a lower scale, meaning that characters don’t get as powerful in these games as they do in other RPGs in general, think of the Paper Mario games, you know how a lot of enemies only have say 20 hp and 2 DEF, that’s the kind of balance I’m going for in this game. Except it will be much higher than that of course.

I know this is such a minor thing to bring up, but I thought I would at least mention it.


2nd this game has a ton of interactivity inside its battles and over-worlds. A ton of different enemies will react to certain things, say you have a certain item in your inventory when you fight a certain enemy, it will notice the item and depending on what it is, the enemy will do something, what exactly? Well you’ll have to play the game to find out!

Status infliction also act the same way, it all depends on what enemy or status you put on it.

Like I mentioned before, the over world is the same way, you could be walking around with certain items and get the police after you if they notice it, or a certain rare enemy may appear if etc. There’s plenty of weird scenarios to get into and there’s way more ways to get into them than what I mentioned here, I encourage you to find them all once the game is finally finished.

Random encounters are completely gone from the original game. Figured I would mention that


There’s a new character that I will be introducing in this game that wasn’t in the original version called Doc Rial the tutorial master! He will only appear if you summon him with his tutorial master call. It provides insight on certain things, such as battles, weapons, armors etc. He’s only there for people who are really new to RPGS.

But don’t let the tutorial guy fool you, the game will be balanced but still provide a decent challenge.

Are you calling players dumb?

NO! Why do you ask?!

I mean really, a tutorial master? Is he necessary?

Well… You never know when someone might need him, hell I’d say every player won’t even bother with him. Which is good! Don’t let Batang here try and fool you!

Its official Lonestarluigi is a elitist, self absorbed ass hole that thinks everyone else is inferior and requires assistance!

Your the dumb-ass that can’t grammar correctly, maybe pull that head out of your ass and write my dialogue a bit better for once?

Well that concludes this DEV log, I know it barely touched upon anything, but keep in mind this game is still in early stages, I’m completely redoing everything from scratch this time.

GET THIS MAN OFF GAMEJOLT! HE’S A JERK!
