Game
A Leap Forward

At the core of the game is the rabbit AI. 🐰

They make plans and find the best way to interact with the tools that you have provided and the given resources in the environment...

Say for example, the goal you give your rabbits is to gather wood for you, they will firstly look for branches nearby. If there is an axe and a tree, they will prefer that path, as it is more efficient. Continuing this - if there is a saw, a large tree and a sawmill, they will pick that path instead. 🌲

First Person View

As a player, you control them less directly as a typicial RTS game, where you have to tell them exactly which resource to harvest. This frees you up more for other tasks - necessary, as you are playing from a First Person Perspective and don't have a god's eye view over the situation. πŸ‘€

More info on this AI system

There is an interesting talk about Goal Oriented Action Planning, as it is also used in games such as Shadow Of Mordor:

Working on this pandemic game since 6 months - play as birds and evolve! 🐣

Grounded Birds is lighthearted, easy to pick up but also pretty dark. It's about birds that are literally grounded ( can't fly anymore ) and need to find a way to survive. 🐀🐦

A first look at a new game prototype! Over the last days: multiplayer, building stuff, and cheetahs chasing you. Sticking to core mechanics first is tough, had to stop myself from going all-in on art and sound too soon!

Experience spheres πŸ“˜

Can you spot the blue spheres? They give you experience points that will let you grow your character! Melee combat = more risk but higher reward!

Building and tools 🏠

What would a good rabbit civilization be without infrastructure and a wide range of tools? ...

The materials you get from dismantling weapons or boxes can be used to repair old buildings, such as the mill!

The mice from the mill will distract any hungry critters nearby 🐭🍞

The gentle penguins 🐧 - they live in harsh climates and are on your side:

Materials βš™οΈ

After several playtests it has become clear that there are a lot of items cluttered on the ground - you can now dismantle them and use the materials as a resource! Let's keep our town tidy 🧹

Always loved abandoned, moody spacecraft. Building the core loop of a dark space mechanic game πŸ› οΈ

Feathers πŸͺΆπŸͺΆ

The characters now finally have reached the fluffyness they were intended to have!

Added a dismantling option for unused swords or armor - can you ever have too many particles? 🐣 πŸŽ†
