The game will cost $4.99 on launch. Same price as POPGOES Arcade. The game is smaller than Arcade, but we actually think, in hindsight, that Arcade is quite underpriced. myPOPGOES, like PA, will go on sales fairly often and I also plan on offering it as a reward for artists featured in the weekly showcase. I have asked about potentially doing a "launch discount" of 20% off, specifically for the 10 Years event, but nothing confirmed yet. So try to save up a fiver for now!
The game will have 21 achievements. 18 of these are fairly normal and just represent which levels you have beaten. Three of them are kind of unique though. The game will also have an in-game achievement menu, featuring new artwork by Javivi / SilverxCristal.
The game has brand new music. Atmospheric tracks have been provided by Radiarc (the main composer of POPGOES Evergreen, and the ambient music in POPGOES Arcade), and new chiptune music has also been made by KamilFirma, a newcomer to the POPGOES series.
The game includes more lore than we previously planned. It is basically a full exploration of Bonnie Glade's character, especially as a youngster. That being said, I think it would be fine to play this game as your first POPGOES game. It's not too heavy with it. If anything, it's a great appetiser for something like POPGOES Arcade. You can play either of these games in either order (but both definitely before Evergreen lol).
For those who don't know, the game includes a comprehensive Spanish translation. This will be available on launch. Unfortunately, this is a feature that will be exclusive to myPOPGOES, as we are not able to add translations to Arcade or Evergreen. The reason a translation was added to myPOPGOES is simply because the programmer's first language is Spanish and he insisted!
The game will release on August 1st, but the deadline has meant that, I imagine, there MIGHT be some minor visual bugs or balance issues on launch. I ask that you be patient with us and report issues if you encounter any. We are obviously rigorously testing the game, and that'll continue throughout the week, but it is a weird game with unique controls and quite a few game modes. We obviously won't leave the game alone until it's perfect.
A mobile port is already in development. It might even be out this year. The lack of wacky Clickteam Fusion shaders has made it a lot easier than Arcade's port.
There are currently no plans for DLC / major updates. We have added everything that was planned. That being said, if I ever change my mind about this in the future and some myPOPGOES team members are up for making more stuff, we may do a "Fighting Chance" type of thing, or something, but I'd also make sure that it is free for everyone who owns the game. I know some people have asked about a playable Candy the Cat or some kind of collaboration with The Joy of Creation, and though I admit this sounds really fun, it's NOT planned currently.
