This is gonna get scuffed but basically I'm making another version of this theory every time I find out about something

Anyways information we have so far

• Obscure/songcat is a multi-form cat girl

• Obscure/songcat works at a coffee shop

• Obscure/songcat has been acting weird recently

• At some point in RP obscure/songcat was wearing a mask

• Some connections to rain

According to, well, me, obscure/songcat has started acting weird after I started pulling connections to different dream smp cast members, specifically at some point between the connections to dream and badboyhalo

Now I don't want to make the whole theory dream smp related, but I will draw some connections because that's where I Believe she gets the inspiration from

Well let's start of with the egg

The egg on the dream smp is known for flipping a person's moral compass

Skeppy for example, before getting infected he was really friendly to bad, he built him a whole mansion, he gave a guy money to spawn in another horse instead of the one that died in their other server, their friendship was everything basically

After getting infected, skeppy became selfish, didn't recognize bad, and basically conveyed that he hated him

Other members of the Eggpire acted very differently morally than they did before, their acts became murderous, they didn't care who they hurt or what they damaged to get to their goal, but they wanted to get to their goal no matter what

They literally celebrated a child's last canon death, they blew up foolish's statues, tricked sam and kidnapped hannah

Now, do we notice any differences morally with obscure's character?

Yeah, kinda

Although this is kind of proof, it seems like obscure started losing interest in the egg over time, but the idea of someone controlling her? Still stands

Now onto the dream connections

You see, dream on the smp is known for alot of things, but most recently? The Enderwalk

The enderwalk state is a sleepwalk-like state that Ranboo goes through, and is believed to be controlled by dream as it always starts with his voice or with the :)

The :) is more confirmed to be dreams way of getting ranboo in the enderwalk, according to an old lore stream by sapnap and an even older lore stream by ranboo

The :) not only being conveyed by dream himself, but sometimes by the person being controlled like ranboo (and sometimes karl in the inbetween, where he had something similar to the enderwalk)

Now, let's see some examples of obscure dropping some :)

Alot of the time it's used in sentences that try to sound "normal" or that reassures you that it's alright, saying stuff like "it's okay" "it's alright" "this is fine" "this is normal"

Maybe it's obscure's brain telling her that to reassure her, or maybe it's whatever is controlling her manipulating her onto thinking that

Also a random fact but dream uses the chess analogy alot when he's talking about manipulation, because his manipulation requires two people, two targets, two "players"

This has nothing to do with the theory I just thought it was interesting

According to obscure, songcat has closed the coffee shop for her own sanity, what happened in that shop? Let's dive into it

Obscure referenced split personality disorder, but it's not an accurate representation of mental health so please proceed with caution

Although obscure is trying to play it off as a split personality disorder, I think it's more of a something or someone trying to control obscure, trying to talk through her, trying to get her to do actions she wasn't meant to do

A mask can be some sort of symbolism, or it could refer to as obscure not being herself

Mask can be symbolism to obscure/songcat masking her emotions, or maybe it's something that has to do with hiding who is controlling her, as it only seems to hide the eyes, which most people refer to as a "window to the soul"

Anyways. To the rain.

Rain is used in movies, books and story's for symbolism, the most two meanings I think that fit this narrative are "misery" and "rebirth"

Rebirth. Maybe the person who is controlling obscure is being reborn into her, taking over her character, and becoming her,or maybe it means that she should resist the controlling, removed the mask, and get reborn to what she used to be before this incident, before getting controlled, before the coffee shop

Or maybe it means misery, referring to this line

The rain represents the sadness, and misery of the coffee shop and what was happening in it, how it caused something or someone to control obscure

The sunlight representing hope, hope for a new future, a better one where obscure can be free

Anyways yeah that was my theory about obscure/song cat, maybe when we get more lore I'll do a version 2
