Back From the Holidays: Status Update!

After a quite short vacation in one of the coldest places on Earth we're back into full development mode for 1.12.

The heat and fire sub-system is now fully coupled with the rest of the physics - bombs generate heat and interact with it, electrical elements generate heat and interact with it, and melting is basically done. So we'll be spending the next couple of weeks working on optimizations - flames, heat propagation, and combustion require a lot of computing resources and we're now working hard to squeeze as many FPS' as possible out of the beta codebase!

At this moment we are also busy collecting ships from all the users that have kindly agreed to let us release them with 1.12, so expect quite a few more hulls and boats with the next release!

And as usual, we conclude this post with a list of the newest Floating Sandbox youtube videos:

Been working lately on lots of 'behind-the-scenes' boring stuff that no one really cares about, so here’s a guy playing the sax for some reason.

Back in my art school days I used to ride the 710 COPSA line from Parque Del Plata to Montevideo almost everyday. This is the Marcopolo Viaggio G4 Mercedes Benz model from the late 80s, one of the older bus models that was running on the line.
