Behind The Game โ€“ How I Built My Horror Experience Alone "Eternal Path"

Hey everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹

I wanted to share a bit of behind-the-scenes on how this project came to life.
It all started as a small idea... and I began building it completely solo. Yep, just me โ€” designing, coding, animating, editing... ๐Ÿ˜…

I'm a programmer at heart, so jumping into other tools was a challenge, but also super exciting!
๐Ÿ”น I used Unity as my engine
๐Ÿ”น Mixamo for character animations
๐Ÿ”น Blender to edit 3D models
๐Ÿ”น Adobe Audition to tweak sound effects
๐Ÿ”น A bunch of asset packages and sounds to help shape the world

Bit by bit, I kept working every day, giving more life to the game.
I used different coding techniques to manage scenes, animations, and events โ€” one of the most useful tools was Coroutines in Unity. They're a lifesaver when it comes to timing and handling events!

For animations, I combined a third-person character with a first-person camera, placing it right on the character's head. It gives that cinematic first-person vibe that I really wanted.

To create cinematic character movements, I also used Unity's Navigation System, which is surprisingly powerful and easy to use โ€” perfect for solo developers like me.

As for the enemy AI (the ghosts ๐Ÿ‘ป), I built a randomized patrol system to add unpredictability and tension. It's way scarier than NPCs who just repeat the same path!

There are many more tricks I used โ€” and Iโ€™d love to share them if youโ€™re interested.
Let me know in the comments what techniques YOU use for cinematic games!
I read every comment and Iโ€™ll reply! ๐Ÿ™Œ

And of course... Iโ€™d be so happy if you download the game, try it out, and share your thoughts with me.
Thanks for your support! ๐Ÿ’š

We made a lot of improvements on the Freezing Plains visual. Things like pine trees, tiny bushes, some rocks, and others game props!

I have added rewards for quests so that villagers can give you something in return for your hard work helping them. ๐Ÿฅณ

I want to know - what's your favourite quest reward?

I worked so hard to get all four of them to the end safely, but then...

Out of boredom and curiosity, I coded Sailor Jupiter's Argentine Backbreaker.

blender animation experimentation, getting the hang of things fast. arms, rig, & gun models by me ofc
