Hello I am Erik, and this will be the last post from me on this project. In this post I will write about what my thoughts of the project as a whole and how the final product turned out.
Let’s start by talking about our final product after our eight weeks of work. We got a playable game with a working AI but some things are still missing. One of the things that was high on my priority was animations for when the AI is looking for the player in a hiding spot. Also high on our priority was fixing the second level for the AI. Currently on the second level the AI does work as intended and that is because of a lack of information for the AI so he does not get the information of where it is supposed to go next. Because of this the AI will stay in place until he sees or hear from the player and even then he may still move back to the same spot after losing sight of the player if the bugged spot is the closest to move to. With makes it really important to fix and it would not me too hard to fix, all that is needed is to give him a new node to move to.
A part of the game that have been worked on since the beginning of the project is our save load system. It has not progressed to the point where it is useable. I think we started working on it way to soon, since we did not have any content when we started making it. Even now at the end of the project I do not think that we have a need to save your game. Because of how short the game is and from what we have seen from our playtests. It seemed to me that no one felt the need to save the game.
So let’s talk about what I think about the project with more focus on the group instead of the game. The thing I have noticed is how much absence we had. It has become so bad that I do not even remember the last time everyone in the group was on time. As people started to become more and more absent the communication to the rest of the group about benign absent started to happen less.
Now that I written about my thoughts on the group let’s move on the game. I think that we did a decent job on the game it has some flaws as to be expected of a game that has only been in development for eight weeks. The thing that I think turned out best is the AI with that model being its biggest flaw as it is not scary. Currently the biggest flaw that the game has is the second level because of the reasons I wrote about earlier.
