Dev log
Another small update focused on stopping cheating. Unfortunately, a handful of cheaters have been persistently using the non-Steam version to avoid bans so I decided to scrap it. This is pretty disappointing because I don’t like forcing players to use the Steam version but they have ruined it for everyone else.
With that being said, I’ve heavily updated Anti-Hacks Enforcer. It is, however, unstable and widely untested and that will have to be the public’s job since there are thousands of factors where it can go wrong. So for the first few days it will simply silently log if it thinks someone is cheating, and once I think I have heavily reduced the false positives I will enable kicking. If you get kicked and not banned and you weren’t cheating, report it to me with what you were exactly doing before you were kicked.
If you are a server host and used the non-Steam version, it’s no problem, you can still use it. But to run the game you must set “Dedicated” to “ON” in the INI file otherwise it will crash talking about the Steam API.

Also good news for anyone previously banned, the slate has been cleared and you are unbanned now. Unless you were such a problem and I had to ban your Steam ID from the game, in which case I just applied those Steam IDs to the ban lists.
Added
Added “VotePercentage” to the INI file settings. Lets you set the percentage of yes votes needed to pass a vote.
Added “VotePlayersNeeded” to the INI file settings. Lets you set the needed number of players to start a vote ban. Ignored by map votes.
Added “TestAHE” to the INI file settings. Leave it at 0 to completely turn off the experimental anti-cheat but log info. Change to 1 to only kick players (not banned) and log info. Change to 2 to fully kick and ban players and log info. This option will go away and the new code will be fully integrated when testing is done and it is stable.
Changed
Server bans are now fully based on Steam profiles instead of IP addresses
You can still use IP addresses to ban if needed but they need to be manually added to the ban text file for the server.
Anti-Hacks Enforcer is testing more powerful code. Use TestAHE to turn it on or off or only allow it to kick players instead of ban.
You can still use the non-Steam version for dedicated server hosting. Download it from my site: http://spasmangames.com/boringman/
You will now get a crash if the Steam API isn’t running the game. Restart your Steam client when this happens. (This happens when your Premium disappears)
This crash is avoided if you are running in dedicated server mode.
Fixed
Fixed damage numbers occasionally not reporting accurately
Fixed Revolver not being able to alt-fire while reloading
Fixed a crash that happened if you closed the game at the initialization screen
