Lately, I've been seeing a lot of illustrations on X featuring characters wearing anime-style masks with cracked sections revealing their faces. I'd seen similar images quite some time ago, but couldn't trace their origin. Curious about the source material, I looked into it. That's when I discovered it was an illustration created by @jeauyce. The currently trending photos on X of women wearing 3D masks were apparently inspired by this illustration, reinterpreted and turned into art by @dolikart.
Looking at that photo, I felt a certain sadness amidst its beautiful, elegant atmosphere. That very aspect captivated me, and I couldn't get it out of my head, so I decided to draw it myself.
In this illustration, the face and hand peeking through the cracked part of the mask were actually photographed and then edited. This was my first time trying this technique, so it felt incredibly novel and challenging to draw, but I found it fascinating and drew it anyway.
