So it’s been a long four months. A little ridiculous to wait four months for this next release. School has completely swamped most of us and it is finally letting up on me enough to push this out. Not the largest update but the UI overhaul took most of the development time. Of course during the process I managed to break Team Deathmatch… so that is disabled until Build #020.
Enough chatter, let’s get down to what you really want to see
What’s new in Build #019:
Locale screen no longer shows for a few seconds even after you’ve already set your language
Forcing a respawn is not possible unless you have full health
Optimized P-2
Replaced RFB-24 with the L96
New damage based on range system to balance out the sniper class
Completely overhauled the UI to look cleaner and better
Characters now have vest and gloves to look super tacticool
Team colors are darker so you don’t burn your eyes out
Walking and running animations now feel a little better
Minimap with toggleable zoom (Push Z)
PostProcessing now uses Linear color grading rather than Filmic
XBox One and Gamepad players now have aim assist
Further bug fixes to bot fragments
Added super dramatic post processing and audio effects when a player takes damage
Added a knife that can swing and stab. Knife does quarter damage against bots
AK-47 and MP5 now have fire selectors. Just hit the button that pulled the gun up to switch firing modes
Support for custom locale. Make a localization file from your language and make Polystrike funny, or make locale for your language
Fixed killfeed showing bot names as BasicBot (Clone)
Bot punches now deal damage when they impact rather than when the animation starts playing
Network traffic should now be much lighter
Added a chat so you can communicate with players. You can tuggle it in settings, if parental controls allows (Windows Store only)
Networkstats now shows if you are a MasterClient
We’ve got big plans for Build #020. We will definitely have it out by the end of the summer. Hope you all enjoy!
Polystrike will take longer than usual to update on the Windows Store due to a conflict with the certification team. We assure you, it will be there for Xbox One and Windows 10 players!
Polystrike ‘em all!
