Hey, everyone, I have some pretty bad news I want to share. It's about Game - The Childrender : DX Gaiden. God, how do I even start this? Well, to put it bluntly:
I'm cancelling the game.
I've been thinking about this decision for at least two weeks now, but I wasn't sure whether or not it was something I was willing to commit to.
The decision came from witnessing the group I was making this game for, Childrenders HQ, collapsing the way it did (that being predators grooming members), Skyblue - an important character to the plot - manually having to be replaced after the way the creator of the character had handled things relating to said collapse, along with the fact that I've also got a few other projects on my plate, and I don't want to become too swamped or burnt out.
The good news is that I'm never going to delete the build from here, GameJolt, and the build that's public is (mostly) up-to-date. And while there are a few bugs in the currently available build, this is what brings me to my next good news...
While I am cancelling the game after the recent events, but also to move on, I give anyone permission to continue and finish the game in its current state!
And the project is not encrypted either, so everyone has the right-of-way to open the project up in RPG Maker VX Ace with no hassle!
As much as it saddens me to break the news, I am happy to have had the opportunity to create and direct this game in the first place. And I love all of you for sticking around and enjoying the work that the others and I from the team put into it.
As for some other news outside this game, this gives me more time to focus on getting Falsehood Act Six ready + the full game itself, as I would estimate it's 70-80% finished! As I've stated before, I still don't have an estimated date for when the game will be ready. But I am estimating it could be ready sometime between late Summer to early Spring.
There's still the bulk of Act Six to fully write, the needed maps to be created, the dozens of art pieces that needs to be drawn, music to compose, and a plethora of bugs to fix. That's not even counting the work that's going to be done for the exclusive New Game+ mode I have in mind.
Well, I think that's everything I have to share today. Expect a new dev log for Falsehood work in the coming days!
Love y'all! <3
