Castle Fade: Update 1


As I’m sure you guys noticed, we were unable to make the GBJam deadline for this game. But don’t think for a second that means the last of Castle Fade! A “Director’s Cut” of sorts was always planned after GBJam, this just means everything will happen all at once!

The end of GBJam freed us of not only a deadline, but also the game’s aspect ratio, which is really helpful for some things….

That’s right, Castle Fade has Co op! Featuring both single player and multiplayer levels, the main characters will spend time both solo and together. The world will be designed so that completely new areas will be unraveled when you compliment one character’s abilities with the other.

That’s it for this first update, but we have a lot of content that will be fleshed out in the very near future. Stay tuned!

Updated the chest in the maze, adding sound, particles and better animation. But what's in the chest?

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
