As you may or may not have noticed, this page has been as good as dead for a couple months now. The update isn't cancelled, but honestly? I have NOT been feeling motivated to work on this because of a couple of factors. I've been focusing on other projects, mostly Lunatic's Limbo (Follow that game by the way its so peak)- but other than that, I've been running into some design problems that are way too hard to fix.

2.0 was supposed to be an overhaul of the original game- better visuals, better gameplay, some extra content. That's what it was going to be, but that scope spiralled out of control a little. Fast forward a year and I have a project on my hands with post-nights, an upgrade system, and most importantly: a main game that still hangs together with glue. Call me stupid for taking this long to realize, but 1.0 wasn't built to support those features at all! Even though I recoded 2.0 from scratch, the gameplay structure simply barely works with any of the new stuff I came up with. And here's another issue: Clickteam is not a very good engine for the stuff I was trying to make.

What am I getting at? To put it bluntly, most of the new stuff 2.0 was going to add is scrapped. Maybe it would take less effort than I imagine to fix the issues with them- but I don't have the motivation for it in the slightest. And besides, it's not what 2.0 was supposed to be! Now, you are still getting 2.0, probably sooner rather than later. It'll still have the vastly improved visuals, the much better gameplay, and some extra content compared to 1.0, but that's largely it. Every menu is overhauled, gameplay is more carefully balanced, cutscenes have been revamped entirely, and there's two new characters to mess with, so don't worry! It's still a vast improvement.

Does that mean all the new ideas are going to waste entirely? No, probably not. Maybe a remake of 1.0 will happen eventually, one that was actually built and balanced around those features- but don't expect that anytime soon. That said, the Makkers may have more surprises in store than you imagine! You'll just have to wait and see what that means.
