CloneJam Kunzelman is on the Way!
December 5 through December 7 to be exact. With three successful Kickstarter campaigns (one funded Catachresis and the most recent was for the upcoming Epanalepsis: an adventure game across 3 characters and 60 years), Kunzelman also writes five days a week at thiscageisworms, and created Alpaca Run.
Wowee, that’s a lot! So the cool part is… you can emulate any of those games within this jam! A bit more detail on the aforementioned games (and one or two others) to help prime your jam game ideas:
A way too scary game; it’s hard to describe this game without shivering. It is really scary. What makes Catachresis a strong game is how it manages to isolate the player, while still incorporating them into a much larger event. You seldom see the creatures and occurrences the game mentions, yet you feel the tension and dread of the unknown.
A musical game about an alpaca, your best friend alpaca. This game is short and sweet; it tells you a story and leaves you gently. What I particularly admire about this game is how it utilizes a death system that doesn’t breaking the flow. Even when you die, the game and song continue. No harsh jolts. No sad alpacas.
Slavoj Žižek Makes A Twine Gam
A Twine game. A Twine game about making a Twine game. A Twine game about making a Twine game, as Slavoj Žižek.
A peaceful minimal game. Lead birds around; watch the sun set. You’re not in a rush. Just appreciate this moment. It’s not often you find a nice calming experience like this.
Get Ready!
Be excited, and start priming those narrative juices; clonejamcmrn is right around the corner, and it will be a blast!
