Short Form Variety
Jord Farrell is an experienced traveler on the road of rapid development. His GameJolt profile is full of unique short form. These games cover a range of genres, play-styles, and art. More so, many of these were crafted within a single day, so by that standard, you should be able to make several entries to CloneJamJord!
Got Any Jord Games?
Below are a few of my favorite Jord games. They also reflect the wide range of content that his interactive work has covered.
Weapon 1482
It’s your lucky day! You have the honor of loading the weapon! Better not mess it up… Weapon 1482 is an exploration game of sorts. Fidget with various control panels and discover how to start the machine. What’s interesting to note in this game is the lack of text and dialogue. Every aspect of this narrative experience is conveyed through other means.
Leap before you look
Made in just one day, Leap before you look introduces a system of perception reliant entirely on movement. You have to jump to see, and you have to see to safely move. It may be a short game, but the idea is solid and the play is gripping.
Real Folk Blues
Possibly the most narratively linear of the batch, Real Folk Blues offers a grim space cowboy experience. Drink up some space brew and do as space cowboys do; to say more might spoil the experience.
Rain
Low poly 3D, Rain is a personal game for Jord as it is like an interactive journal. Rain is a lovely short experience. Wander as you will, and come across the scenes at your own leisure.
Subline
My personal favorite of Jord’s, Subline is a fantastic puzzle game with pick-me-up directions. The music and play match for a calm challenge as you navigate lines over and under each other, like a daydreaming student doodling on a slow day.
