Hello everyone, Glitch here. It's been awhile.
This post will probably be a bit more of a lengthy one, but I wanted to start off by acknowledging the 2nd anniversary of CRPT's demo (wow it's really been that long). While I think some things about it have aged better than others, the game and development team likely wouldn't have grown into what they are today without its release. I've made so many lasting friendships in the community because of this project, which is something I'll forever be grateful for. Unfortunately, we weren't able to create something in time for the occasion, so enjoy this updated logo by @RealFunlock that was never posted in the meantime. However, I can promise that substantial news will be unveiled in due time to compensate for our lengthy hiatus, which I'll be providing an explanation for below.
WHERE WE'VE BEEN
As you've probably noticed already, it's been nearly a year without any updates regarding the game. This was because of a variety of factors, but the main one was my initial departure from the team last November to focus on college and my studies. This slowed the game's development, and the directors at the time were also dealing with things such as college and other issues in their personal lives. Both Lil Fox and Bonathan, initially helping direct the game alongside Radio and Sky after I left, are no longer associated with the game due to recent events. However, I won't delve into much depth as this was touched upon in previous announcements.
As mentioned above, Radio was also a director during this period, who worked to maintain things as much as possible. I’d like to thank her for these efforts, despite the reasons already listed. She’s been working behind the scenes to help us bring the game in a better direction for everyone, which we are building upon now, as activity has increased.
THE FUTURE OF CRPT
As of a few weeks ago, I've officially returned to the project as head director alongside @RealFunlock & @Radioactive8ball
. The team in general has also grown larger and more capable than ever, with several new and extremely talented faces joining the fray. With all of this in mind, we've made the decision to take Corrupted Purgatory in a brand new and unique direction, hence the "Under Construction" label in the description. While we can't share many details about these new changes yet, I can say these things with certainty:
For those who enjoyed the demo, a custom night section will still be present in the game, however it will not be the game's central focus.
The roster won't be downsized in any way, everyone currently in the game will remain in it.
This new direction will be the definitive way to experience CRPT: It'll have much-needed replay value and be infinitely more enjoyable.
That's all the news I have for now! Be on the lookout for more frequent updates to return in the not so distant future!
