Hey everyone!
There weren’t any updates on the game for the last couple of weeks, as I have been working on a complete ‘under the hood’ rehaul of the engine. I ended up with a general purpose, somewhat point & click oriented adventure game toolkit, which I plan to eventually turn into game authoring software.
I am now gradually porting the content of Daily Chthonicle into the new engine. For starters, I quickly tossed together some of the plot material, the phone line and the clues board, which resulted in a mini detective-like game. There’s only one murder mystery to solve, and to do that, the player may interrogate witnesses on the phone, investigate their backgrounds and follow them around.
The mini game is available as a separate download. One thing that probably everyone will notice is that the text on the board is now rendered in high resolution, making it somewhat possible to read without zooming in. There are still some issues and bugs but I’m planning to weed those out in the process. However with the engine itself being more or less complete, updates should become more frequent hence forth.
Have fun!
