Day 132: Today was more productive than yesterday. I did more enemies configuration than I wanted, which is good. I ate something greasy and tasty at lunch. And it’s still quite early. So yeah good day.
Daily interesting stuff:
Reddit post, “why are there no research on what makes a successful game?”. Question was way too broad, but it was still a interesting point.
Reddit post, on of those articles that remind that indie game will fail. I mean statistically it’s right. But that’s not a really motivating thing to read. Is it weird that I still like it?
Tasks done:
Copied some rooms to the zone 2. It’s okay, it was planned. The first zone has a 100 original rooms. Then each of the other zone has 25 originals and 50 copied from the first zone. So I took some at random and copied to the new zone. Then I took all the rooms of the zone and assigned them the right material. Yes, you see in the end I hope that each zone will have it’s own tileset. But for now, it’s just a different material that makes things a different color. So I have a normal zone and then blue, green and red zones.
Made the enemies configuration for 87 rooms. That’s right 87! It’s much more than yesterday. It was easier to focus today, and I finished the 12 rooms left in the first zone and the 75 rooms of the second. It was even less boring to do today. I still find this appalling though. But it was easier to deal with it today. If I were a more dedicated dev, I would’ve take this occasion and make more rooms configs. But as you may know it already I’m quite lazy. So I decided to call it a day.
Responded to a post of someone who went to same school as me and offered a part of a booth at a convention in avril. It’s interesting because it’s in a city at only a 1 hour ride. Plus the game should be in a solid beta version by then. So that would be a great occasion to gather some feedback.
