Daydreams devoured by nightmares (FUTURE/PLANS)


Thinking about changing the name of this game. Probably after dreamhack jam voting is finished.

Apparently, it is normal to experience lag in the beginning, but it seems to be fine once you play past it.
As mentioned elsewhere, there are new versions of this demo available with new features. (not available now. probably after voting)
Not sure how much I want to carry on, but I have plans for another 10-20 demon types, and conversation trees with innocents and damned souls.
Splash scenes for NPCs and events are planned, where players can talk, fight, act, etc.,

Various party members will have different interactions with each other and the environment.

Party members will grant abilities to the player, such as crawling through tight spaces, or comprehension of demon’s speech, as well as providing negative drawbacks, like slowing the party, or making the player a target for demons.
You will be able to recruit demons (temporarily) into the party.

Players will be able to equip powers, and synthesise new items.
A shop. and some healing items (including “revive”) are already implemented (but not in this build. Check the website (slimesalad)).

The HUD will become more complicated, and waypoints/navigational tools will be available.
The player will be able to have points of interest added or marked for them, with mission-like gameplay structure.

As mentioned in an early post, I would like there to be 2 modes, Roam and Gauntlet.
Gauntlet is a series of rooms or puzzles. Roam is exploration. There will be carry over between modes. The player will travel through the apocalyptic world, and hell itself.

I reckon adding this stuff will take me most of the week, if I have time.

I’m thinking of changing the name to “Daydreams devoured by Nightmares” or simply “Devoured by nightmares”.

Expanding gameplay Working on timing There are 23 different demon types (kinda) and more planned. So far, there is little/no difference between them. Going to fix that shortly.

Succubus visual design Plotting different succubus types., imcluding, I hope, incubi. They will probably be a few different graphic sets for various models that are generated and loaded randomly.
