Days and days and daaaaaaaaaaays!
It’s taken me three days of a few hours a day to work out the bugs, and get it working… but………..
GAME SAVE SYSTEM DONE!
It works - I keep trying to break it, but I can’t. Except one time. When it ate all of my inventory items. That was concerning. With a year or more to go before finishing the game, it’ll either rear its head again and get itself fixed or it’ll just never (please be this one) ever happen again and I’ll forget about it!
