Death Animation

I took me quite some time to get this done… It was a fun animation to draw and I think it looks pretty cool. Not only did I have to draw this and put all the code in, I had to rewrite a lot of my HP code, so the whole process took me longer than expected.

Anyway, my next task is to transition to a death screen which will ask the player if he wants to continue from the last checkpoint (which I haven’t even created yet), continue from a save point (which also hasn’t been created yet) or quit to the menu screen (oh and guess what? This also hasn’t been created either)…

I got a lot of stuff to do, but I am finding a better way to figure out what I want to work on in game. I have been putting together a spreadsheet of mechanics, objects, animations, etc. that need to be created and implemented. So whether it’s creating a new enemy type, drawing their animations or coding traps and menu screens. Hopefully it will make me more productive by having little goals along the way, otherwise, when I have finished something, I get stuck on what to do next and just mess about…

Thanks for reading, if you managed to make it this far.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Back in my art school days I used to ride the 710 COPSA line from Parque Del Plata to Montevideo almost everyday. This is the Marcopolo Viaggio G4 Mercedes Benz model from the late 80s, one of the older bus models that was running on the line.
