Hey, it’s me.
Y’all might recall that my plan was to release part of the game on the 12th (if I couldn’t release the whole game) and then it occurred to me.
Given the recent… leaks, with people tapping into the files (which I’m okay with) and publicly posting assets and spoilers (which I’m NOT okay with), to ensure that more stuff doesn’t get leaked, I’d have to spend a whole night manually stripping the files of anything other than day 3 content, file by file.
…or y’know, just not release anything :P
An early release would just be giving myself more work. It feels wrong to point it out, but… I try to stay a humble, down to earth guy. I genuinely try to speak my mind with fans. But, a consequence of that is that I forgot the power dynamic here. Ultimately, I’m the guy who pumps out the content. The means of production belong to me. I’m providing a service that you guys want, so, I’m not gonna let other people dictate how I develop anymore. It’s completely my fault for letting that slide in the first place.
Unfortunately, 100%, I’m not releasing anything ‘til the full game comes out. I’m also no longer pushing to release anything on the 12th, because it also occurred to me today, that I let people leaking assets from my fnaf meme game put me in a bad mood. When you say it out loud, it sounds ridiculous. The development of a fnaf meme game is the most important thing in my life. Or rather… It was, until now.
If you don’t like the release being pushed back, I’m sorry. I’m a busy guy and now I have to deal with a headache that I don’t need due to this file leakage fiasco. The new provisional (earliest possible) release date is now the 20th of December. If I finish early, I’m just gonna test and hold the game back, rather than go back on my word. If I get any time off; I’ve earned it.
That’s it for this devlog. Thanks for reading, and buh-bye.
