INTRODUCING...

warped_sun_logo_1.png

...A WORLD WHERE NO ONE HAS TO DIE!

ABOUT

Lord of the Warpedsun (Simply known as WARPEDSUN) is a writer’s take on Deltaswap that reinterpret character swaps across the four released Deltarune chapters. In our history, Deltaswap was made by TheEccentric1851, but what if it was made by Temmie Chang?

It also includes characters from Undertale and has a parallel story that is also it's own Underswap take. The story overall doesn't change, but it tries to be creative just by swapping characters and things.

STORY (SO FAR)

VOLUME I: PRELUDE

Warpedsun Volume 1, subtitled "Prelude", is the first Chapter of Warpedsun. The Chapter is primarily set in the Dark Fortress, a Dark World created in the School's Supply Closet. It's antagonist is Queen Clubs, and its Easter Egg Boss is the Seer. This Chapter also has it's standalone route, the Curious Route.

SYNOPSIS

The Chapter begins with a view of the front of a book named "LORD OF THE HAMMER," where the player is told by a voice about a prophecy that can be altered based on their decisions. The player would meet three heroes: The Blue Archer, a Guardian of Darkness, and... The screen fades to black. The player awakens to control a silent human named Frisk Holiday. Frisk is a human teenager who lives with their father Rudy in Home Kingdom.

Frisk is assigned to collaborate on a writing assignment with Berdly, the cool kid secretly nerd Bird Monster. During class, Berdly and Frisk are assigned to find a new seat in the Unused Classroom. However, they discover that the room is a pitch-black void with a dazzling ambiance. After they enter, the door slams shut and the floor breaks way beneath them, causing the pair to plunge into an unknown Dark World.

Within it, the pair meets Ellie, a compassionate Guardian of Darkness. She reveals that they are two of the three heroes of the Legend of the Warped Sun, with herself being the third. She explains that they will restore balance between light and dark by sealing Dark Fountains. During their quest, they meet Clover, an evil princess who is determined to prevent them from reaching her kingdom's Dark Fountain. Berdly abandons Frisk and Guardian to team up with Clover after feeling unwelcome. Berdly's friendship with Clover helps the both, with Berdly feeling more accepted for who he is and with Clover seeing the party's reasons of sealing the fountain.

After Frisk and Guardian defeat Berdly and Clover, they join the party. Berdly informs Clover that they would most certainly face her mother, prompting the latter to betray them and lock them in the Dark Fortress' prison tower. Berdly escapes, leading the two former friends to fight each other, only for Berdly to miss his final attack. Following the battle, Berdly assures Clover that he and the party would not harm her mother. As a result, the two rekindle their friendship.

Clover's mother, Queen Clubs, fights the party in Dark Fortress to keep them from sealing the Western Fountain, but is eventually defeated with Clover's help. After that, Frisk and Berdly bid farewell to the Dark World and seal the Fountain with the power of Frisk's HOPE.

Frisk and Berdly return to the Light World together, finding themselves in the school's Supply Closet, surrounded by board games, decorations, and antique toys representing the Dark World they explored and the personalities they encountered. Frisk and Berdly decide to return to the Dark World the next day.

After Frisk goes home and goes to bed, they shamble out of bed in the middle of the night, their face seemingly grotesque as they shuffle around the room. They rip out the PINK Soul, throwing it into a birdcage, before revealing a RED Soul and putting it in their body. After that, they pull out a knife and looks at the camera with a menacing smile as their eye glows red.

Curious Route

Early on in the chapter, the Player is given choices to force the Darkners of the Western Fountain to flee or to spare them into the party. If the Player chooses for Frisk to force the Darkners to flee, the ending of Queen Club's battle will be altered, with her willingly surrendering so Dark Fortress is spared instead of him attempting to backstab the party, however Frisk will not receive the Easter Egg if they fight the Seer.

The ending for the chapter is the same with minor differences in how certain toys look.

VOLUME II: FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT!!

Warpedsun Volume 2, subtitled "For Your Entertainment!!", is the second Chapter of Warpedsun. This Chapter is primarily set in TV World, a Dark World created in the TV Studio that was closed for renovation. Its antagonist is Director and its Easter Egg Boss is Shadowed Eravem. This Chapter also has it's standalone route, the Soul Ablaze Route.

SYNOPSIS

The chapter begins with Frisk waking up, with Rudy soon entering their room holding Frisk's knife, admitting that he realized Frisk had eaten all of the Gingerbread Cookie Cake he had baked the day before. Frisk arrive late for school where he meets Berdly. He expresses his desire to return to the Unused Classroom World.

As they approach the classroom door, Asriel appears and encourages the two to join him and Suzy in sneaking into Home Kingdom's only TV Studio, which was under restoration. After Berdly declines, he and Frisk enters the Unused Classroom and travel to Snowdyn Town. However, they discover that it is as empty as when they initially arrived, with only Ellie greeting them.

Frisk retrieves all of the goods from the Supply Closet and transports them to the disused classroom, as instructed by Ellie. This brings the occupants of Dark Fortress to Snowdyn Town, where many of the newcomers open shops. Berdly eventually adds that the two have schoolwork to do, and asks Ellie if they can write about the Dark World, which she would reject. Ellie, owing to the knowledge Berdly provided, banishes them from the Dark World until they finish their homework. Before they go, Clover and the Puzzle Masters enter Frisk's inventory.

Berdly and Frisk walks to the TV Studio to meet Asriel and Suzy, only to discover a Dark World inside. They meet Director, the ruler of the TV World, who entices Asriel to join him on his quest for never-ending entertainment for all Lightners. When an Armless Staticguy blocks the route, Ellie appears and casts Snow Blanket, regrouping with the duo. The group defeats Director's minions before confronting Suzy, who voluntarily joined forces with Director after signing a contract.

After a tough encounter with an Armed Staticguy in Channel Desert, Berdly is healed by Ellie's harp magic, making him intrigued in healing via a stringed instrument. In Ellie's enthusiasm to teach, she walks off with Berdly down a branched route, leaving Frisk to explore on their own. While wandering the desert, Frisk reunites with Asriel, who discovered a loophole in Director's contract. In Frisk's companionship, Asriel learned to care for others.

Berdly learnt how to use GUARDIANHeal with the string of his bow, which is a low-level healing spell, whilst with Ellie. The party eventually reunites, but Director captures them, along with Suzy, as they reach Teltropolis. The party is imprisoned in Teltropolis Prison, but they escape with Clover's help. Frisk, Berdly, Ellie, and Suzy collaborate to save Asriel. Suzy learns to be more sympathetic as they navigates Teltropolis after failing many quizzes.

The party eventually faces Director on the Capitol Building's rooftop, where they fight him and Suzy who is forced by contract to attack the party. After fighting Director, he explains the origin of the TV World: it was created by the Fallen Angel, who has promised Director a world of entertainment before it took it's leave. Before the Angel's absence, they gave the Director a set of plans to expand his world of entertainment, which involved forcing Asriel to expand the TV World by making a Dark Fountain. He then deploys his ultimate form, Director OMEGA, to attack the party.

After defeating Director OMEGA, he advises Asriel to create his own Dark Fountain before being unplugged. Before Asriel can create the Dark Fountain, he is stopped by Ellie , who reveals that an overabundance of Dark Fountains will cause a catastrophic event known as the Age of Chaos. Director decides to abort his scheme after learning of this. Frisk seals the TV Studio, and the Lightners return to the Light World, waking up inside it.

Suzy, Asriel, and Berdly leave the TV Studio while Frisk transfers its different things to the school's Unused Classroom, allowing the TV World's recruited Darkners, including Antten, to settle in Snowdyn Town. Frisk takes Berdly to the Holiday Manor, their home. Berdly meets Rudy, Frisk and Dess's father. As Frisk goes to the bathroom, they take out their Pink SOUL, inserting a Red SOUL in it's place in their body, and escape via the window, only to return shortly later to re-insert it.

After Frisk and Berdly fall asleep on the couch while playing a retro video game, Rudy phones the Royal Guard to report that his vehicle's tires have been cut. After Rudy falls asleep while waiting for the Royal Guard to arrive, Frisk awakens and, using their knife, makes a Dark Fountain, enveloping the entire chamber in a dense black mist. The Chapter ends with two bright red eyes appearing on the Retro Game with the words "GAME OVER" appearing below the eyes.

Soul Ablaze Route

When the player is offered the option of using Asriel's Sabers to attack Channel Desert's Darkners and forcing him to complete quizzes and solve puzzles by destroying them with his Sabers, Chapter 2's alternate route will be launched. After Frisk and Asriel meet with a vampire Darkner named Eravem to obtain a powerful golden flower crown, he is forced to burn Suzy with the spell SOUL ABLAZE until he is no longer moving or speaking when he confronts the duo. He then leaves Frisk, making a worried face as it happens, and travels to Teltropolis alone.

Director discusses the origins of the TV World, noting that he failed to cool Suzy down when he discovered him, and that Asriel is too fatigued to engage in his plans, leaving only Frisk and Berdly to do his bidding. Director uses his OMEGA transformation, but soon withdraws it after Ellie explains that a conflict can be begun called the Age of Chaos if Director continues his plan. Frisk is left to close the TV Store fountain on his own, but is attacked by Shadowed Eravem before they can. The battle becomes a stalemate, prompting Frisk to seek the assistance of their partner, Asriel. He would ultimately answer the call for help, using SOUL ABLAZE on Shadowed Eravem to shrivel him down as the fountain is sealed.

When the rest of the group awakens in the Light World, Suzy does not, her head burning like a fever. Asriel, Berdly, and Frisk abandon Suzy on the ground of the TV Studio. If Frisk visits Asriel whilst he visits Toriel and Suzy, he is plainly angry over his experience in the Dark World. Asriel wonders if the Dark World was actually a dream, and he wonders why Frisk's actions felt so familiar.

The route concludes in the same way as the normal route, with Frisk creating a Dark Fountain in their home.

VOLUME III: TRUE VILLAINY

Warpedsun Volume 3, subtitled "True Villainy", is the third Chapter of Warpedsun. This Chapter is primarily set in the Retro World, a Dark World created in the Holiday Manor's Living Room. Its antagonist is Killer (Alien) Kueen, and its Easter Egg Boss is the Angel. This Chapter also has it's standalone route, the Neo Armor Route.

SYNOPSIS

Berdly and Frisk awaken in a Vinyl Marsh, somewhere in the new Dark World. As they walk, Ellie reunites with the duo. Berdly asks Ellie if she can return to the Light World and attend the approaching festival. Ellie declines, explaining grudgingly that, as a Darkner, she is unable to inhabit the Light World like the Lightners. Ellie goes on to say that Darkners are simply errors that come with the Dark World, and that everything in the Dark World is essentially an alternate version of the Light World given form by a Dark Fountain. When the Fountain is sealed, the Dark World and its inhabitants vanish. Berdly attempts to respond by devising a feasible means to refute Ellie argument. However, they are interrupted by Killer Kueen's unexpected use of vulgar language. She asks her most devoted right hand, Hyjax, to present her badass villain introduction, which culminates with Kueen physically appearing in front of the trio.

She and Hyjax then organized a Special Event for the trio, Killer Kueen's Villainous Kristmas. Ellie at first refuses to participate, but Berdly persuades her to try it. The party plays two episodes of the Stereotypical Hero Game, interspersed with excursions to the Achievement Zone. Meanwhile, Kueen covertly telephones the majority of her subjects about something "in the acid marsh." When Berdly overhears one of these calls after the third scene, the group sneaks out of the Achievement Zone to investigate. The trio ultimately arrives at the Blue Fields and discovers Rudy, who is asleep but imprisoned in a cartoonishly enormous cage. Kueen discovers them trying to hide behind the cage and puts them back into the game.

The party refuses to give in to Kueen's demands, instead demanding that Kueen let them free so that they can seal the dark fountain. This drives Kueen to subject them to a public execution over a thousand episodes. As her system fails, the party manages to escape into the larger Retro Game World. Kueen, discovering the trio has vanished, instructs all peons under her command to seek them. As her peons continuously fail to identify or capture the party, Kueen's systems break down, weakening her grip over her peons and pushing them all to quit her, with Hyjax being the last to depart.

The party returns to the Green Fields to seal off the fountain, but Kueen blocks their path. She explains why she wants to develop a seemingly unending game: As the Holiday residence's Game Device, the Holiday and Dreemurr families would gather and take turns playing her challenges. However, as each member of the group eventually stopped playing her game, Kueen was left utterly unused. When the Hyper Goner debuted, she was offered a world where the joy never stops in exchange for keeping the party busy.

Seeing the party's desire to continue and not give up, Kueen starts an encounter that serves as the episode's "SERIES FINALE". Following her defeat, Kueen says that all she wanted was someone to play her game again. Guardian tries to remind her that a Darkner's emotions are irrelevant, but Berdly counters. He discusses his sentiments of not fitting in and inadequacy, but also mentions that he met the right people and now has a circle of friends. He tells Kueen that if she lets them go, he and Frisk would locate someone in the Light World who enjoys her game.

Kueen, feeling hopeful and energized, agrees and releases Rudy. However, as she does so, she is suddenly struck down by the Fallen Angel, who attempts to capture Rudy itself. The party engages in battle against the Angel, but they are defeated. As Alphys arrives as a result of Rudy's call to the Royal Guard earlier that night, the Goner turns its attention to her and captures her instead.

Berdly and Frisk pursue the Angel into the Light World, while the Holiday manor's fountain remains unsealed. The two trail the Fallen Angel and Alphys to the previously sealed-off abandoned Church, which appears to contain a Dark Fountain within. The door is closed before they can enter, causing Berdly to become upset and kick at it until he calms down enough to understand the door has a four-keyhole lock. Berdly returns to the Holiday Manor to rescue Rudy, and the chapter concludes with the church door opening in front of Frisk.

Neo Armor Route

After each episode of Kueen's Kristmas Special, the player can play the original game in the Achievement Zone's Cool Peons Only section, which requires a score greater than 150 but less than 200 to access. Each replay of the original "de-specialized" game features a photorealistic-looking Frisk avatar named "VESSEL" who retrieves a weapon called "FAMILIAR BLADE" and destroys enemies on the board, boosting their LV. Eventually, using the strength obtained by reaching LV MAX, VESSEL acquires a passcode that allows them to enter the next episode.

When the player returns to the Achievement Zone from the greater Retro Game World, he is given the option of playing the final episode of the original game and engaging in fight against the Neo Armor Holder. After beating them, VESSEL jumpscares the screen before leaving, and Frisk acquires the Neo Armor, which Jelino meant to deliver to the group in Chapter 2 but couldn't find.

VOLUME IV: FATE

Warpedsun Volume 4, Subtitled "Fate", is the fourth Chapter of Warpedsun. This Chapter is primarily set in the Board Darkworlds, the many Darkworlds located in the Shrine. It's main antagonist is the Angel and it's Easter Egg boss is the Forgotten Man. It has This Chapter also has it's standalone route, the Forbidden Route.

SYNOPSIS

The morning after Frisk and Berdly seal the Dark Fountain in the Holiday Manor living room, Rudy invites Berdly to attend a prayer service at the Shrine. There, the two ask townsfolk for clues regarding the Church and conclude that the most likely source of information is Asriel's father and ruler of Home Kingdom, Asgore Dreemurr. They convince Asriel to invite them over to his home at Dreemurr Castle for a study session so that Frisk may investigate for clues while Berdly distracts Asriel in the living room.

In Chara Dreemurr's room, Frisk finds a key inside of an old artbook that goes to the Abandoned Church. However, Frisk rips out their Pink SOUL and places the Red SOUL in once again before the player could grab the key. The Pink SOUL, locked inside a spare room, enters the Castle's vents to find Frisk taking a phone call from an unknown person instructing them to prevent Berdly from finding the artbook. Although Frisk fails, Asgore returns home before Berdly could even open the artbook to draw with Asriel and and expels him from his home.

The duo return to the shrine and wait for Rudy, but they instead discover a new Dark World has taken form inside. In the Dark World, the Encyclopedia Board, Frisk and Berdly find numerous sketches made in fire depicting the Legend of the Warped Sun. Upon reuniting with Ellie, Berdly notes that her behavior is remarkably different than usual, which she repeatedly dismisses. They meet a stranger they've never met before, who acts as a mentor to Berdly and assists the party in many ways, leading to them encountering the Angel.Despite the party's efforts, the Angel escapes through a Ruined Entrance before they can catch up with it. The party decides to seal the Dark Fountain and regroup at a later time.

However, after doing so, Frisk and Berdly find that there is another Dark World in the shrine behind a locked door. Looking around the shrine for a key, Berdly discovers that Forgotten Man is actually a Darkner created from mementos of W.D. Gaster, a renowned archer, scientist, teacher, and deceased friend of the shrine's priest. In hopes that the Forgotten Man can help them to unlock the door, Berdly creates a new Dark Fountain.

While searching for the Forgotten Man in the 2nd Board, Frisk and Berdly are ambushed in darkness by the Mystery Man, a grotesque figure shrouded in mostly darkness that they both believe to be the Forgotten Man. The two are saved by Ellie, who destroys the figure. She explains that the hostile Darkner was a sketch replica of the Forgotten Man, and that Gaster's remains were incompatible with Berdly's Dark Fountain. When Berdly confronts Ellie on her prior behavior, she tearfully admits that she knows everything about the Prophecy, including how it ends, but does not know what would be appropriate to disclose. The two subsequently make up, with Ellie promising to be more honest, and learn of the church key's location from a Darkner formed from a pawn piece shaped eraser.

After sealing the 2nd Board's Fountain, Frisk and Berdly return to the Light World and unlock the door to find the Angel in the 3rd Board. The Angel, confronted by the party, creates another Dark Fountain, resulting in the formation of a Warden, a harbinger of the Chaotic Age. The party defeats the Warden with Gaster's assistance. Berdly runs ahead against Ellie's protests and finds the final part of the Prophecy, which he destroys with both his bow and fist shortly before the player can read it. Berdly assures Ellie that none of them would allow the Prophecy to come to pass.

Frisk seals the 3rd Board's Fountain and returns with Berdly to their house. They find Rudy inebriated and having karaoke night with Papyrus in the living room. Rudy explains that he had cancelled prayer service and was never in the shrine. Rudy's behavior prompts Berdly to leave. After Frisk goes to bed and unsuccessfully tries to sleep, the phone rings and the caller reminds Frisk of a deal they had made.

Forbidden Route

If the Soul Ablaze route was done in Chapter 2, it can be continued in this Chapter. When Frisk and Berdly are investigating the Shrine for clues about the Abandoned Church, Asriel invites the two over to the Dreemurr Castle to study. Later, after Frisk rips their Pink SOUL out and replaces it with the Red SOUL, Asriel - who is not being distracted by Berdly - invites Frisk to his room to talk privately. Once the Pink SOUL reaches Asriel's room through the vents, a choice prompt transports it into the room. The player then regains control of Frisk, which is further enhanced with the Red SOUL. This directs them to forcibly re-equip the Golden Flower Crown to Asriel. Frisk and the rest of the Castle's inhabitants are directed by Asgore to leave shortly afterward.

Following the Chapter's events in the Dark World, Frisk receives a call from Asgore, who claims that Asriel is looking forward to meeting them at the Festival tomorrow.

CONCEPT ART

VOLUME I

Commentary: Meet Guardian Ellie!... Well, you can't really greet concept art. She was designed back when Susie and Dess swapped to match Dess's design (Which will be seen later). I didn't want to scrap this concept art because of the new swap being Berdly and Susie. So, this is official!

VOLUME II

Commentary: The art was made based on concept art I made. I will never show that though... Unless this post somehow reaches 100 likes?

Commentary: Here are some prototype art of the Killer Alien Kueen! The design is based on edgy Newgrounds art/animations back in the early internet that you can possibly still find. I don't know, never been a Newgrounds type guy.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
