Want to give Murder Ball a try and see whats been done so far and maybe provide a bit of feedback? Now’s your chance. The latest version as of writing this is availible for download now here.
It’s still missing a few things, but here’s what is currently working:
Flying: You may move forward using W, Turn using A and D and use your afterburner with Space. The afterburner only lasts for a set time before running out and recharges when not in use. If you burn it all the way down you need to wait for it to fully recharge before using it again.
Dying: You have both a health and shield bar. Shields are depleted first and recharge when you haven’t been damaged for a short time. Health doesn’t come back and when its gone you are dead. When you die you lose all control of your ship and begin flying erratically.
Scoring: There are two goals on either end of the arena. You score points for either the Purple or Blue sides by knocking the Murder Ball through the goal. Flying through the goal kills you. On scoring the ball is reset to the center of the arena.
GUI: The in game GUI is nearly complete as far as what you will see as you play. You have three radial bars on either side of your ship. These represent your health, shield and afterburner and are red, blue and yellow respectively. You also have an arrow that appears and points you towards the ball when you get to far from it.
Anyway, have fun out there and don’t kill anyone in real life. If you do you won’t have any friends to play with anymore and that would be a pity wouldn’t it. Remember, Video Games don’t kill people, killing people kills people.
