Hey guys. Again, sorry for the late update. Last week...was EXTREMELY stressful and depressing, but it's all good now.
So as you probably saw with the newest update, I made the sprites smaller. Yeah, it took me this long to realize that the sprites were too big. But hey, better late than never right? This made things better for Draco too, because now his jump isn't so floaty anymore. Thankfully playing classic games helped me realized this.
Also, whenever Draco gets the Blazing Pepper Power up, Draco can now still attack. You have to press the special button for him to breathe fire after he picks up the power up. I added this because I'm planning on adding fire proof enemies later on, and it wouldn't make sense for you to have to lose your power up on purpose to attack those enemies.
Still have to add the transitions(fade ins and outs) checkpoints and the level goal. Now that things are looking up I intend to get them done this week so I can move with the 1st level of the game like planned. Odds are the demo's gonna be released early next year in January, but we'll see what happens.
One more closing remark, I'm perfectly aware about how the game looks, it's pixelated even though that's not my intention. I guess GameMaker renders things to be like pixels, and when I think about it, like 90% of the games made with GameMaker use pixel art. Still, there's gotta be a way. I mean there's template called Windy Woods and that's not pixelated at all and there is a game made with GameMaker that's not made with pixel art, but I don't wanna mention. So it is possible, I'll figure it out.
All righty till next time. Happy Holidays.
