DEV LOG: A little bit more, in Build #4!

More updates! This time we’re giving you a few smaller changes while we work on finishing up the new arena. As below, we have bullet casings, character silhouettes behind walls as well as a basic options screen.

The new arena (possibly coming in the next update) will be a sort-of Wild West-style Saloon with one hell of a lot of destructible terrain (seriously, look at the list below). We didn’t want to give it to you before it was ready (i.e. super awesome), but here’s a sneaky peek mockup. We hope it gets you excited!

We’re doing these updates every two weeks, so buy now to avoid disappointment (also known as the eventual price rise). The full list of changes for this build is below.

2nd June - 13th June

Code

  • New Bullet shells/casings implemented (as in gif above)

  • New character silhouettes (as in gif above).

  • New options screen implemented. (There are options for toggling music/sfx as well as fullscreen mode.)

  • Moved taunt to D-pad to stop people accidentally triggering it.

  • Fluid camera toggle (hidden away from you for now ^^).

Bug Fixes

  • Taunt will now correctly play in trick shot mode.

  • Rugs will no longer spawn on top of each other.

  • Catching a bullet in Bullet Hell mode no longer resets your ammo back to 5 (if you had more than 5).

Art & Animation

  • Bullet casings (as in GIF above).

  • New options screen.

  • Paintings falling off the walls in Timmy Bibble’s bedroom arena. (Not yet implemented).

Misc

Code

  • New procedural world generation rule set.

  • New menu screen for arena/world select.

  • Almost all items in the art-list implemented.

Art & Animation

  • Base tileset

  • New bear-style rugs, including rolling-up animation in Spine.

  • Tables (inc. destructible pieces)

  • Chairs (inc. destructible pieces)

  • Barrels (inc. destructible pieces)

  • Wanted posters (inc. destructible pieces)

  • Wagon wheels (inc. destructible pieces)

  • Taxidermy (inc. destructible pieces)

  • Bar, complete with bottles. (It wouldn’t be a saloon otherwise!)

  • Destructible walls!

  • Batwing doors.

Let us know what you think of the new things on Twitter, Facebook or right here on Game Jolt. Au revoir! <3

Mashed! A buggy, broken, seemingly unfinished game that we're completely obsessed with.
