Dev. Update #42 - It's all new and fresh! [inc. New models, features and Mac support]


Hello and happy holidays good people!

Christmas is around the corner and it’s less than 2 months away from the 2nd year this game have been in development.

Now i know i will be getting a lot of comments about demo release, game release etc.

This time, i come prepared!

As usual, i come with all the stuff most of you skip; hope you stick around to read what i have to say this time though.

I have gotten more hardware up and running since last devlog went up.

That includes a Mac, Android device for fast testing(for the future if i decide to release lighter phone editions)
and i now have in total of 8 laptops with different operating systems and hardware for further support.
Now the game will with time be supporting Mac OS X as well as more hardware for Windows based computers.

But wait, there is more!

For Windows, the new launcher slowly gets put together and works more stable than ever before.
This is great news for the local testing team as it comes with a new report system. - The launcher now comes with an unique ID for each user, this is mainly created for support with the game in early stages. If you send a report to me, i will not be given any names, ip addresses or location. I only get the ID to keep communications with, this is for your safety and trust towards me.
If you as a player of my game can trust me enough to send me hardware information, i will in return by not getting any sensitive information, get more information collected for further support of the game.

The launcher does also scan your hardware and checks the compability of your computer with the game.
If you lack any hardware or some other things got detected, the launcher will notify you and come with possible solutions.

Now, more about the game itself.

Many have requested tons of things through the last year.

First thing first(For any prevous, current and future testers out there): I have made the game run MANY times faster than it have ever run before, if the game doesn’t go smooth, try out all the settings!

Things i know by heart i will never add to the game or change as i am following a script and story written long before development.

However…

I have now gotten more tools(software) and started to replace all(yes,ALL) the characters in the game.

There are more options in the game which have been requested, more graphics settings as well.

The main menu have gotten a tune up as well as several other menus.

A cool new feature i like personally is the intro sequence:
Now when you enter a timeline in historical-story mode or normal mode, many things in the scene(s) get’s dynamically added and
removed, replaced and mixed up according to what time you are in etc.
Even moving objects, later on i want to make the game much more dynamic and let the players experience changes to things in the
background and such while playing. Things that gets changed up early in the timeline, gets reflected in another time in the timeline.

‘I would love to hear your feedback on this people, personally i love the little details that do exist at the moment that gets changed up’

There are a bunch of new changes and fixes all over the game and i think i’m getting to a point where it is stable enough that..

yes…finally…

There will soon(as in normal person’s sense of time)…
…soon… a demo..!

Now…i know the hype is WAY out of hand, people have waited for soon literally years!

The demo will be small, wont be a final demo OR a final version of the game at all.

The demo will be an Early Alpha DEMO!

There will be CHANGES!

Ok, now soon: “what exactly do you mean by soon?” i hear you shout out through the screens!

  • Soon as in i have already started to trim the size of the full game down to a more pleasing size to upload.

  • Soon as in i only have to create, animate, replace and configure more characters in the game(still lots left, but i fell i can do it fast enough)

  • Soon as in early 2017, early as within the first couple of months If sooner, well..you wont mind wont you…

Ok, there is a ton of information in this devlog.

Before i finish off this book, i wanted to add that now the hygene factor is a thing in the game.
You have to keep yourself clean, put your dirty clothes in the washing machine, start the machine and wait for it to finish.
If you go to work too dirty, the chance of getting fired raises, your co-workers will notice and your life experience as well as life experience will drop.

There are more homes and timelines coming with time as well.
There will only be 1 or possible 2 home(s) in the demo

  • The reason is to be completely honest, it’s only 2 that KIND of work poperly at the moment.

  • The other homes basically does not exist in the state they are in. It’s that bad.

As mentioned above in the post, i have now gotten what i need for Mac support.

There will take time and lots of work before a Mac version will be available. When the game gets released, the plan is to release a Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and some tablet editions of those systems at the same time.

At last, new people, new spotlight when you check out the alternatives and as visible above: more models will come!

That’s all i have for now people, as always i am working VERY hard on the game.
