Hey there!
It’s been an exciting few months for the Shifted Tales development team, and we’re thrilled to share what’s been happening behind the scenes this fall. Let’s dive right in—there’s some important news below!
Progress Updates
First off, the team and I want to wish you all a Happy 9th Anniversary to Undertale! Yes, today’s the day (not some other date—sorry for being a little late! >.<)
Now, onto the exciting news: the game engine is officially 100% complete! We've been working hard to get it just right, and it's a huge milestone for us.
We have been working on the game engine for quite some time now, and I'd like to announce that the game engine is 100% complete!
(Note: The fight footage shown was just for fun and testing purposes, and the sprites used were not made by us.)
Artwork and Sprites Progress
We’ve made some solid progress on the artwork and sprites as well. Here's a sneak peek:
Scrapped Iris Sprite
Scrapped elevator.
There’s a lot more to show, but we’re keeping some things under wraps to avoid spoilers—for now, anyway!
Music Update
We’ve also made great strides with the music! One of our tracks is available for you to listen to on SoundCloud, so check it out here: Fret Not - Shifted Tales.
Writing and Map update
A huge chunk of writing work is finished, and the map has been fully planned out! (Heavily blurred to avoid spoilers.)
Important Announcement
Now, onto a critical update about our previously teased release date: We’re uncertain if we can hit that target. We’ve made this decision to ensure that the game reaches its full potential and that no quality is compromised.
Also, another big change: we will no longer be doing monthly or time-based devlogs. Instead, we’ll post a devlog whenever we feel there’s something exciting and substantial to share.
That wraps up this short dev update. Rest assured, we’re always working hard to bring Shifted Tales to life. Stay tuned, and we’ll see you in the next update!
stay determined hero.
