Development Blog: Elders #1

I’m back! Again!

For the longest time I have had trouble finding inspiration to actually make a game. I would start many different projects but would ultimately give up on them a few hours into development. However this current project, which I have called Elders, I have been working on for the past month and I think it’s ready to be shown to you guys.

Every week I will have a new update to show progress on what I have added and what I plan to do.

Bassically the game is about leveling up, killing monsters, gaining armour sets by killing epic monsters. The game is called Elders due to the storyline which I don’t want to give away at this point, however the Elders are the strongest creatures in the game.

Below are some very early screenshots and things will definetly change.

Battle agaisnt one of the first creatures, you can see an energy bar which controls when you can attack. The player is currently wearing a item set.

This is the world map where you will select what area you wish to explore.

This is the inventory screen, it is missing a description box beside the player.

Miniboss in the first area. Currently called “Epics”.

This is the skill library for the player. As you can see you can currently have three skills on at a time.

So just a reminder these are very early screenshots but they are a good indication of where the game is/will be.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Demonstration of the spells and their effects :)!

These are background sprites I've created for a game I'm working on at school ^w^ Click on the post to see how the sprites connect. You won't regret it! (personally, I think it's pretty heheh)

If you have more of an acquired taste, the restaurants in Niravasi have you covered! Maybe skip the salad bar, though.
