Development Diary #11 Important Question

So lately I’ve been decided whether or not to continue this project as I’ve been doing or to just create my own fan-game from scratch. With both options, there arise problems. With the YNMP there requires a lot of file conversion of traditional files and the encoded game files. And even after all that, I have to create midi music files, something I’m not good at as well as pixel art which I’m even worse at. With my own fan-game (dubbed Yume Metsuki) I have to start from absolute zero, meaning I don’t have the base files that Yume Niki offers as well as the prescripted events and effects.

There are also pro’s to each side however. With the YNMP I can build on something that’s already present, making production time faster and easier on my part. With Yume Metsuki, I can start from scratch and use traditional image and audio files that I’m good at creating. I also have freedom to create whatever universe I want instead of maintaining a certain aspect.
My question to you all is what should I do? Should I scrap one them entirely, come back to them later, or just try and balance between the two?
