Major devlogs like this are where I'll be breaking character for transparency's sake. TLDR on the chance of people just skimming and not wanting to read, progress on Deltarune: Void's Echo, (DRVE), is on the slower side thanks to College, but still relatively smoothly in spite of that.
The current release plan of one month after Chapter 7 of Deltarune is still set without any issue, so hey, small win on my end! Though, if much to my joy, demand builds after chapter 5's release, I'll put out a build of chapter 1 for DRVE when in a playable state
Chapter 1 by far has the most progress so far, having most Darkners and tilesets in the light world done. Programming has been by far the thing taking longest to get a handle of. DRVE being not just my first large-scale game (let alone first game beyond a scratch game mechanic test at that), but also, my excuse for learning gamemaker studio as well.
Now, the real elaphant in the room, what's the plan for overhauling and adding Quality-of-life features to base-game deltarune?
Simpe on paper, but admittedly complicated in practice! Voice acting, showing which items are planned to be used, and swapping party order are a few points of many across the full game, these ones are just what'll be throughout the entire game ;)
With all that aside, if anyone reading this far would like to have a hand in development, feel free to reach out! There will be a Discord server invite added with the next teaser, and, in the meantime, comments and private messages are open here on Gamejolt! Thank you for reading, and have a good day/night depending on when you're reading this!
