Who am I?
I’m a solo game developer. I have about 2 years of experience in game dev, but this is experience gained only while working on my own small projects. I've been working as a mobile applications programmer for about 5 years, so programming is not a problem for me. However, I lack the skills (and patience) to create models and animations. Therefore, I try to use the help of others. Either in the form of freelancers, or ready-made assets available on sites such as CGTrader.
What will I want to create?
At this point, all I know is that it will be a top-down shooter with rogue-lite elements (i.e. a form of permanent progression will be available). I also know that gun feel will be a very important element of the whole game. There are going to be a lot of enemies on the screen, and smashing them is going to be a lot of fun.
To avoid wasting time on coming up with a name, the game will function under the working title ‘unknown.exe’.
And here is the very first screenshot from the tool I will be using. A small disclaimer - I'm not an affiliate for the Invector. I just want to show you exact tools that I will be using in my game:

What is the initial goal?
I would like to write down in the form of devlogs (maybe there will be a video for this in the future) the whole process of creating my game. Starting with setting up the project, through choosing the tools, to such details as setting up and running social media. I think that thanks to this I will be able to build a dedicated community for my game, which will support me in its development. In return, anyone interested will be able to receive all the know-how of creating this kind of game, and in the end (hopefully) receive a fun game.
I must point out, however, that I do not plan to prepare detailed technical tutorials. Instead, I'll be describing high-level assumptions and giving source materials I'll be using.
What's the next step?
In the next devlog I'll describe what tools I'm currently using and I will probably create a Twitter account. That way I will be able to slowly start in the social media sphere.
