Hello!
It’s Blueberry here with a DevLog for Lost In The Woods!
Also, If you’re too lazy to read this post, here’s one with a video.
Anyway, as of now, the game has been in development by me, and only be for a few weeks. I don’t spend all my time on the game though, as it would be too exhausting.
I’ve rewritten the inventory system(you haven’t seen the old one, lucky you) as the old one was way too complicated to use with crafting + the new inventory has way less code & all safety checks are done easier than before.
With the new inventory there came simple crafting. The crafting menu at this point is already being reworked on, as it’s really not fitting into the game right now. I’m making it more minimalistic but at the same time more informative.
CAMPFIRES
Campfires are crafted by using 4 PIECES OF WOOD, 2 FLINTSTONES, 2 STONES and are automatically placed down, if the player can do so. They can’t be moved and they won’t go out as fast. The plan was to make them eternal, so they wouldn’t go out at all, but that is going to change. They’ll have a time of burning and you CAN light them again, so you don’t have to craft a new one.
BANDAIDS(SMALL)
Small bandaids are made by using 1 ROPE, 2 LEAVES.
They are usually used to temporally stop bleeding. (The bandaid will eventually break and the wound will be left open again.
BANDAGE
Not yet implemented, but will probably include using 1 ROPE, 2 LEAVES, 1 COTTON BUD(also not implemented yet)
Will be used to stop bleeding, heal wounds.
STICKS
Self explanitory, have no use yet. made from 1 WOOD into 2 STICKS.
Gathering resources works as I’ve wanted to. As you chop down/break a rock etc. it drops the items according to the type. Rocks randomly also drop flintstones.
GUI
GUI Is simple as of now.
It has a button for options and a button for inventory & crafting menu.
It also indicates your Health, hunger, Stamina & temperature.
TEMPERATURE
Players temperature rises & falls. At night, the temperature falls. Let it go too low, and you might end up getting sick. Raining & cold at the same time, will most definately give you a cold or even worse.
Use the warmth from campfires to replentish your temperature.
That is all for this devLog, will be posting again soon!
