So, I didn’t do anything crazy last week. Nothing that would blow your minds, even though I wanted to. No, this week was really just level development basically.
But why am I here then? Do I have anything different to say? Well, yes. But first, let’s walk you through what happened last week.
Three major updates were the last week’s challenge, and while they may not seem like much, they really do make a difference gameplay-wise.
3 - Inventory Optimization
The Inventory System used to lag if you got more than one type of item at once, but now I’ve fixed that, I believe. There may be a few bugs left, but nothing insane.
2 - Garden of Sakuras - 2
Yeah… Still on the fourth level of the game. I had plans to make dozens of them, but I’m not sure if that’s possible. I work really slowly level design-wise. That’s a shame. But still it is really fun to play, and I hope you find it as fun when the game releases.
The only thing missing here are the enemies and the trees. After I place those, the level’s gonna be ready, full of new mechanics.
1 - Bee
I also made a new enemy. It wasn’t any challenge to implement it since it’s got a really simple AI and is just something to make the levels feel more alive. The Bees are exclusive to the Woodlands and the Dark Forest.
The rest of the time spent this week was on juicing and polishing what I already have in the game.
Now that I said what I’ve worked on last week, let’s talk about what I’ll do this week.
A dang lot of new Enemies.
Finishing the 4 levels.
The Sakuras Isle.
Shortcut Manager.
Questing System.
Economic System.
Does that seem like a lot? I guess. But I also think it’s totally doable. I just need to work faster. That’s also doable.
But let’s be reasonable, what you want to know about is that economic system and the quests, ain’t it? So let’s talk about that economic system and the quests.
You, as a player, must gather resources, right? So that you can make better equipment, armors, accessories, potions. But you can’t gather everything. Also, you don’t want to. It’d take too long. That’s where the economic system comes to play. You’ll buy the resources that you need.
Now, of course, it isn’t just that simple. It cannot be. So what did I do then? You have to make money to buy the stuff you need. And how do you do that? Well, that’s fairly simple. You get a profession and open a business. You just have to make sure that everything is in stock and then you’re ready to go.
The first job you acquire is free, but if you want to have more than one profession you’ll have to pay a fee. Also, you have to pay taxes when the King says it’s time to pay.
Obviously, I’m not diving into all professions this week, I’ll just make it simple at first and work with the Lumberjack.
That’s it for this week. Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter, Facebook and to visit my Tumblr blog! Also, join the Discord server I’ve set up for Land Of Enchantments.
