Backstory:
Back in 2015 I saw this game all over YouTube called “SCP: Containment Breach” and after watching a ton of Markiplier’s videos of the game I was hooked as a matter of fact I wanted to play the game so I installed it but my PC sadly couldn’t run the game and it wasn’t until 2019 when I tried again, this time succeeded and the game was a blast, I loved it. Such a unique game and in 2023 I began using Unreal Engine as a tool for me to make games as I already had small experience with making games beforehand. And one day to challenge myself and my lack of unoriginal ideas I came up with something, remake SCP CB. I have seen a ton of SCP remakes but all of them faced an issue where either they took away what made the original game scary or the ones that tried to imitate what the original game tried to do were cancelled, so I wanted to make a 1:1 remake of the game with UE5 graphics
Devlog:
The game has no gameplay really as I have been prioritizing making the intro sequence which some could argue is done already but I want it to be like the original
Guard 1 (Agent Ulgrin) has a bigger range when he considers you “running away”
Upon not following the instructions on the intercom the balcony guard will shoot and the entrance to the chamber will open slightly afterwards with Agent Ulgrin following and shooting, third guard (stationary) will shoot upon the player escaping Ulgrin.
Security chief Franklin can be seen entering a room and in the chamber will be located at the balcony window.
And now in the actual game Ulgrin can be seen with Security Chief Franklin walking away from 173 (getting to close to Ulgrin at this moment will make him start shooting the player.
Inventory system is functional and all there is left to be done is item dropping, item moving slots, and combining items, and interacting with keycards and other items that aren’t documents
Added document173 in the intro sequence and required to pick it up in order for the chamber doors to open.
Check up in 2 weeks for the next devlog!
