DEVLOG #1


Well hello the collective 5 people who care about this project! Me, myself, and I (Still a solo team here) have a full progress update on Lost City!

Straight to the good stuff! (And pretty much the only stuff)

--CODING: 20%

-The boot sequence + menu, overworld system for rooms 1-20, and a puzzle are all either done or have gotten both a 1st and 2nd pass!

(This number does not include future ideas, fights, and some other things)

--SPRITES: 50-70%

-Okay, this number is a bit iffy.
What I mean by this, is that while I want all of Section 1 to have the same Ruins style, I am also trying to redo almost all of the tiles to look more appealing, AND I need to add more sprites and tiles to account for this. Expect this number to either be 100% or all over the place in the next few devlogs for Section 1.

--MUSIC: 5%

-We need a musician so bad.

--STORY/WRITING/CONCEPTS: 40-60%

-I currently have a rough draft of Section 1's story layout, and how it ties to Dusttrust, but it will most likely get changed as progress is made.

-In terms of writing, not really anything has been done that will stay. Hell, even the intro that exists will probably get rewritten dialogue to match my vision soon.

-Lastly, concepts. Idk how to sum this one up tbh. In the first 20 rooms, there's not really much that could be unique, and I haven't really put to much thought into the actual city part of Lost City.

--BATTLES: 10%

-Not much to say for this tbh. One encounter is fully done, and Eager to Hug (Section 1 Final Boss) is in active development.

Ik I've wanted to keep this project to just me and a few playtesters, but that's kinda difficult lmao.

WHAT I NEED:

-Spriters

-Concepters (I can't think)

-Musicians

-Playtester (Only accepting 2 more)

-NOT coders (Shocker, right? Most people forming a team ask for this the MOST lol. Not this time, at least for now)

Another leak of Lost City (pre-lost city)

Finished core parts of a room minus missing tiles, this area would not progress you but it'll give a nice view of the Ruins as a whole!

Oh yeah I forgot GameJolt exists. A LOT of progress got done today on the coding side, namely chests and saves. I still need to learn how to make battles though

I'm switching to an actual engine cause I'm too stupid to make this from the ground up. In the meantime, have a sneak peek at a map that might be in Section 1! (Unfinished atm)
