Devlog 10: Making great progress + A problem with Stripe

Happy double digits!

I've been making so much progress since I started back on these devlogs, and this week will be a busy one!

I'm finally creating the next enemy. For the past week, I've mostly been working on optimizations, like how I improved how I implement new interactable objects ("clean code is good code" - any good programmer). I've also decided that, from now on, I'm only adding decorations once I finish an area; That way, I can focus on mapping it out and getting the gameplay and puzzles just right, and I won't have to worry about moving everything around when I want to make significant changes to rooms.

Now onto the not-so-good stuff...

My Problem with Stripe

In 2022 (sometime during or before July) I gave GameJolt the required documents and information for creating my Marketplace Account, ever since then it's been stuck on the "Stripe is in the process of verifying your details." alert and, at this point, I'm not sure my details will ever be verified. If this is the case I probably won't even be able to upload the full game onto GameJolt.

I've tried contacting GameJolt and they said that Stripe is separate from them and I will have to wait for Stripe to verify my details or contact them myself (I also found out that there's a good chance that I've been declined and that they don't even tell me).

I already have my Itch set up to receive payments, and Steam will (hopefully) be easier to work with, so there're not any problems there. Of course, I am very far from finishing Pitch Black so I'll hopefully have it sorted out by then, but there's a good chance that I'll have to upload the full game to only Itch and Steam.
