Devlog 2 - Face the music


Welcome to another chunk of text only 2 or 3 people will read.

Most of the main game is done at the moment. Most of the changes have been just adding new stuff on top of what was in the demo. How much new stuff exactly?

-16 different remixes (gameplay modifiers)

-8 song types, now named with fancy Italian music words.

-A boss battle at the end of every run.

How does a boss battle work in DETUNED? Rather than just surviving until the song is over, you need to build up a series of pearl combos. The boss level also has a different note visualization and over 10 special remixes. These “special remixes” are variations of some of the remixes and song types that you encountered during the current run.

So far, a run seems to take around half an hour, so the game should take 4 hours to complete if you don’t die a single time. I’m aiming for a price tag of 9$ so hopefully all of that gameplay time won’t give me trouble with Steam’s refund policy.

Oh, there’s also a new item in the shop. It costs one pearl and it makes the game harder.

Minor demo update:

-Fixed a bug that made some enemy bullets phase through the player’s real body even if they touched it.

-Reworked the pause menu.

-Added the option to disable the dither effect.

Only the OGs will remember...

The "ghost path" which was previously only available in the mobile port (which was a disaster) can now be played for free.
