LISA: The UNDONE

"Origins"


It's good to finally get some thoughts down about how things are going on the game. Today, while I don't have any more screenshots I would like to show, I would however like to take a moment to talk about how this game has progressed over the years.

Undone, as some of you may know, started as a project called "Rejoyful" way back towards the end of 2018. It wasn't the only project to be called that at the time.

Originally, this project was aimed with the (somewhat shallow in retrospect) intention to "fix" what I felt was wrong with Joyful. Over the past three years of working on and improving the game, that completely changed to wanting to create something more my own, to take the basis that Joyful had created, and make something with a very different vision with it, and hopefully something that has a lot more heart with its messages and world.

My own version of what happened after Painful, essentially. I have kept at it over the years to make something good out of this, and hopefully I'm getting there, thanks to all the people over time who have helped me, and the determination to continue such a weird idea for a project.

I love the LISA games very much, and this game is my way of paying my dearest respects to not just Joyful, but all three of these games and what they mean to me.

This game is not only a culmination of my time with LISA, but a culmination of all of my time working on games since I got into this community, the things I've learned from all of it, and I can only hope people enjoy the eventual release.

Included with this post is a couple of old sprites from the older days of the project, and a sketch of Buddy, which I will try to provide for every one of these posts.

Development, while long and difficult, has been going good, and is a thing I shall not give up on, this is a project I want people to eventually see.
