Headquarters:
Since I wanted the player to travel to different crime scenes, I began working on the Headquarters, a place where you can return to after investigations. It would serve three main purposes; travel, upgrades and witnesses.
The Travel section contains a map you can use to click on different places to travel there. However, I want there to be some progression systems, so you have to collect a certain amount of evidence to unlock certain locations.
The Upgrades area is a place where you can spend Research Points, which you get more of depending on how much you collect during an investigation. These points can be used to upgrade your gear and other aspects like Strength (how fast you can break things) and Stamina (how fast you can travel to different places/rooms).
The Witnesses area allows you to contact other people who know similar things about the case, and talk to them for information. This is another way to get Research Points. However, you need to unlock witnesses with the evidence you collect.
