Hmm, what’s this….
A devlog for Steel Titans…
after a month…
So what’s new then?
Level Editor
Firstly, the new level editor is finished. The editor will probably not be part of the final game, but is merely going to be used as a quality of life improvement to speed up the creation of levels. This mainly due to the fact that Gamemaker Studio 2’s level editors object placer is terrible less than convenient.
Creation And Saving
This gif also happens to show, that the menu has been updated to include the level editor, and playing saved levels

Also, this gif is perfect for the next subject…
Visual Changes
As is noticeable in the previous gif, the player mech is now blue instead of red like the tanks. Projectiles they shoot have also now been colour coded based if it was fired from the player on the enemy.
This change was made due to playtesters complaining that on a first try of the game, they were confused with what they were doing.
Another thing has been changed is the saturation of the grass and water, as before they stood out and drew attention away from the destructibles.
Plus, minor animations (unnoticeable due to the low quality of the GIFs) have been added to the background to add a little more detail.
Finally, animations have been added to the players legs to make it look less like a tank.
Bug Fixes
Before, the titan legs were extremely glitchy and didn’t face the way they were meant to. Fixes have been made, and now only a few remain. I am hoping all that will be fixed by the next devlog.
Optimisation changes have also been made across the board.
Why the inactivity.
Firstly, I’d like to apologise about the inactivity though I doubt anyone really cares at this moment.
Though certain things such as school projects got in the way, unlike the last two times, I have no excuse.
It was procrastination, I have had enough time to make much more progress. Though it seems my procrastination has been cured, thanks to last week or so having so much progress.
The next devlog should probably be in about 2 weeks, it’s unlikely much content will have been added, just bug fixes, optimisations and such, as I’ll be away from my workstation for the first week.
Anyway,
Thank you for following the development of Steel Titans, and be prepared for much more content in the future.
