Hello everyone! This is Day 29 of developing CaveVox! In this devlog, we’ll talk about the world of the game as a whole.
Let’s start with Kingso - if you’re not familiar, it’s a 2D turn-based game set in a medieval fantasy world, and development on it is still ongoing. Kingso features a vast world - the continent of Avelir, made up of various kingdoms and factions. Players can explore it, take on guild quests, and travel across different biomes.
CaveVox takes place on the same continent, but the events unfold long before the main game. It’s a prequel that will shed light on how it all began - why certain factions exist, and what led to the world of Kingso as we know it. But what do the mines have to do with this?

In the western part of the continent, deep in the southern lands, lies a vast magical forest. Long ago, this region was home to the powerful Western Kingdom of Tawernar. Many scholars and mages crossed a massive mountain range to reach this mysterious land. Over time, a city began to form, populated by these settlers from various factions. The city itself was built atop an incredibly deep underground complex - a dungeon so vast that no one truly knows what lies in its lowest depths. There, you’ll face traps, monsters, and many dangerous - and often astonishing - discoveries.
In CaveVox, you’ll take on the role of one of the dungeon explorers. Just like in Kingso, your goal is entirely up to you - from exploration and leveling up to hunting down and eliminating monsters.
Planned features include spatial audio, enemy vision and hearing systems, and procedural generation - all aimed at creating a deeper, more immersive dungeon exploration experience.
Thank you for reading this Devlog!
